I never thought I’d be writing something like this about people we love so deeply. One moment, they were living an ordinary evening at home. The next, they were standing outside watching firefighters battle flames that would force them out of their home and into a hotel, unsure of what tomorrow would look like.

In the blink of an eye, a garage fire turned into a life-altering emergency for our dear friends, the Etienne family of 3 adults, 2 children, & their very well loved pets, when the fire spread into part of their home. While we are profoundly grateful that everyone made it out safely, the damage has displaced them from their home entirely.

Right now, they are living out of a hotel room with the bare minimum and only a microwave & mini refrigerator, while they are trying to hold life together while processing shock, loss, and uncertainty.

What many people don’t realize is that a house fire doesn’t just destroy walls and belongings, it disrupts everything:

• Daily routines

• A sense of safety

• Children’s stability

• Basic comforts that we sometimes don’t even realize

In a matter of hours, they lost access to their home, personal belongings, and normalcy. And now they face mounting expenses such as meals, clothing, transportation, replacing essentials all while navigating insurance, repairs, and the emotional toll of trauma.

This family is the kind that shows up for others without hesitation. They are loving, hardworking, and deeply generous. That’s why we’re asking on their behalf for anyone who can, help them.
