Family and Friends,

Howdy! If you thought we had enough kids at six, we agreed with you! However, God has different plans. This summer, two beautiful girls (sisters, ages 7 and 11) came into our lives. They started as kids needing a place to get out and play over the summer break. Just a few weeks later, we found out they needed a home after their aging grandmother passes. God works in mysterious ways and now they are with us. Grandma is still alive and involved in their lives, but she understands the inevitability of her future and wants to plan for her granddaughters.

The girls have been living with us since July 2025. They are fully part of the family in every single way. We go everywhere together, Lauren homeschools them alongside our other children, and they call us Mom and Dad every single day. It is truly wonderful. We have seen incredible growth and healing in the months they have been with us. We are excited to see the Lord continue to grow and heal them according to His purpose.

Many people have asked about our story and how they can help. Our most sincere request and biggest need is prayer. Constant prayer right now for the adjustments that come with adoption. Prayer for the biological parents to come to know Christ as their savior. Prayer for safety for our entire family and the girls grandmother. And prayer that all hearts will be softened and prepared by God to make the court proceedings simple and as least expensive as possible.

As you might imagine, adding two more to the mix made space a little tight. This November we moved into a bigger house with more space for the kids to spread out and be outside. This takes care of the bathroom and personal space needs. However, we are currently unable to fit the entire family into one vehicle. We take two cars whenever we travel as a family (to church, Bible study, birthday parties, etc.). In the future (maybe after selling our old house) we will be buying a larger van that can haul the entire family.

 In February, we paid the initial retainer fee and the paperwork officially started. Our lawyer said the cost of this case can vary significantly. It largely depends on the number and complexity of future custody hearings. We would be happy to discuss details (names, circumstances, etc.) in person or over the phone if you have questions.
