In a world where our hearts beat with countless hopes and dreams, I stand before you today, humbled by the journey that has led me here. My name is Emily, and this isn't just any story—it's my story of transformation through faith and compassion. 🌱❤️

About a year ago, I was still reeling with the loss of my dad and questioning what God was doing in my life. I was angry and felt abandoned, but I was also slowly finding my way in a new church community. Through prayer, fellowship, hard work, and time- I started to find joy in life again. God brought me through that storm, and a huge part of my walk back towards Jesus has been through Alejandro- an inspiring young boy from Guatemala with the biggest smile you could ever imagine! (We share the same birthday, 10/19!) He represents hope against all odds—a beacon that guided me out of darkness and into light. 🌅

I became his sponsor through Compassion International, sending letters back and forth across continents filled with love and encouragement for Alejandro to keep thriving in the face of adversity. (A few of his favorite things are soccer, his friends, and learning his letters amd vowel sounds-be still, my teacher heart!) But I knew there was so much more I could do—to be present rather than just a pen pal on paper.

So here I am today, preparing not only financially but also emotionally and spiritually for an upcoming missions trip with my church Calvary Church this August 2026! We are partnering directly with Compassion International to reach out to Alejandro and many others in a small Guatemalen village. 🌵🔥

My heart swells at the thought of meeting face-to-face not just Alejandro but dozens of children—those bright eyes, those open hearts yearning for connection beyond borders! This isn't about charity; it's about community and love in action. We will be doing children’s ministry, home visits, and special outings that make a lasting impact on their lives. I will even have the chance to buy Alejandro things he needs, or things that would make his life a happier one. 📚🏡

But I can only go as far as my faith allows—and your generosity fuels me! This campaign is raising funds for travel expenses, accommodations, meals, and basic supplies needed to transform this dream into reality. Your support will enable us not just to provide but also engage in a meaningful way that brings about change from the ground up. 👣💖
