Called to Honduras

God called me to the capital of Honduras, Tegucigalpa! On this mission trip I am sent out by myself to live with long-term missionaries where I will be discipled by people who have a great understanding of what being on long term missions is like. I will be supporting Marco Joya and his wife with their ministries, as well as the local church leaders. Their ministries are at Mrs. Joya's school, a sports academy, their current church, a new church plant that they are trying to get up and running independently, and they host a few other programs and activities in which they share the gospel and disciple kids to help them know and grow a relationship with Jesus. During my summer I will be supporting them in any way that they need throughout all of their ministries, and I get to disciple many middle and high school boys, 90% of which are without a father in their household. The church leaders specifically wanted these kids to be able to have a man of God in their life this summer, and they believe I can be that person for them.

 My Why

I dedicated my life to Jesus over a year ago and he called me to missions. He gave me a heart for everyone who doesn't have a relationship with him, imploring me to seek them out. Through embodying this heart posture, it became very clear that I was meant to spend this summer on mission, serving Jesus in any place he calls. I was introduced to an organization, ELEVATE, through my church college ministry. I decided this was the organization I wanted to serve God through and they are sending me out!

ELEVATE

Equipping Leaders, Encouraging Visionaries, and Activating Teamwork through Experiences. ELEVATE is an organization that is under the missions organization GoSendMe. ELEVATE sends out people one by one, to help support long-term missionaries all around the globe. Through this 12 week apprenticeship, the people being sent out are able to support the missionaries specific needs, share the gospel, and be discipled in being a missionary.

How I will support

1. Bible classes for high-schoolers
2. Working on devotionals for the High School teachers
3. Training with basketball players at Marco's academy
4. English teaching program with the Church
5. Working in their churches where they are of need

How you can support

1. Pray for God to use me to support the Joya's well. Pray for the Lord to be moving in the hearts of everyone in Tegucigalpa.
2. Encourage with your words and scripture.
3. I am raising $4000 dollars for flights, food, and housing costs.
