Defend Ukraine Fund

On February 24, 2022 at 5am local time, russian occupational forces invaded Ukraine. The first wave of attacks targeted Ukrainian military facilities. Explosions were recorded the length of the Ukrainian-russian border, and were heard in large population centres throughout the country including Kyiv, Lutsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kharkiv, and Odesa.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are ready to resist any hostile invasion, however there are countless Territorial Defense Units that require basic supplies to hold back the invading forces, and to safeguard the lives of those that are defending their homeland. Additionally there are individuals that will be forced to flee the conflict zone such as the elderly, or those who have been severely injured during the past eight years of conflict.

Funds gathered will be used to provide non-lethal support to Ukraine’s defenders. This includes, but is not limited to: medical supplies, body armour, helmets, and radio communication devices. Funds will also be used to support the evacuation, and meet the daily needs of vulnerable members of society that are forced to evacuate including the elderly, sickly, and war amputees.

Continued from previous update.

In addition to the military and medical line of help, humanitarian aid was sent to Vinnytsya, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Zaporizhya, Ukrainian-Polish border to support women, children, and elderly. A brief financial report for 39 days of war can be watched on MHF FB page.

In the last 39 days of we became the voices of those who can not speak up and share about the atrocities of war and their pain.

At this time, I am confident that the work being done by the Maple Hope Foundation and our tireless army of volunteers will continue into the future.

In order to ensure the sustainability of our work, we have moved to a more optimal platform: https://donorbox.org/defendukrainefund and I am writing this final fundraising update from Ukraine: https://bit.ly/3NOvLZV

I will be joining my unit in Kyiv within a few days, and together with my brothers-and-sisters-in-arms we will avenge the blood of the innocent, the tears of Ukrainian mothers, and the crimes that have been committed against humanity by the worlds primary state sponsor of terrorism. I thank all of you for your prayers, support, and efforts. I look forward to the day when we can look back at this page in our history with a sense of accomplishment, and pride.

Ukraine will be free, and together we will be victorious. God bless all of you.

Dear benefactors,

Thank you again to everyone who has supported our efforts. When I first started this fundraiser, I couldn’t have imagined the generosity and support we would receive and I am inspired, heartened and moved by what we have been able to accomplish.

Since the last update we have been able to procure an additional 21 class IV ballistic vests, 10 tactical headsets, 10 encrypted two-way radio sets, 5 radio scanning devices, several satellite communication systems, 5 infrared optical units. Our military help team was able to coordinate a purchase and logistics delivery to the front lines of the various equipment for almost 80K.

Our medical teams, both in Romania and Vancouver purchased and received in kind contribution of critical medical suppliers for 107K plus over 1000 tourniquets (total purchase price 22K). All this equipment is on the ground, and some of it has already been put to use by Ukrainian forces, in particular during the liberation of Bucha, Hostomel, Irpin’, and other towns and villages that have suffered unspeakable atrocities at the hands of russian occupants.

Dear benefactors,

Once again, thank you all for your extremely generous contributions, and heartfelt support of Ukraine.
Every prayer, donation, and kind word helps drive the efforts of our volunteers, and of the brave men and women defending Ukraine.

In the past week we have collected $24’211.44 in offline donations alone, and have already put the funds to good use while funds are released by GiveSendGo to the Maple Hope Foundation bank account. We have been able to procure 23 ballistic vests with corresponding plates, 20 helmets, and 5 thermal imaging units. All of this is already en route to Ukraine, and will very soon be safeguarding the lives of our defenders.
As part of our efforts we have also received over $420’000.00 in material aid: medical supplies, and non-lethal equipment such as uniforms, boots, winter jackets, rucksacks, etc.
Ten pallets have already left our warehouse in Vancouver, and are en route to Ukraine, with 10 more leaving at the end of this week.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to these efforts in kind, by donation, with long hours of tireless volunteer work, or simply by spreading the word. No one individual can do everything, but the last few weeks have shown the incredible results of everybody doing something. Together we cannot be defeated! Truth will prevail!

As we commemorate the 208th birthday of Ukraine\'s greatest poet, and national prophet Taras Shevchenko, let us reflect on a few of his lines:

And on lands revived
There will be no foe, no rival,
There will be instead
A son, a mother,
And there will be people on the earth.

Dear benefactors!

We have been overwhelmed by the amount prayers, support, and donations that we have received from all of you during the course of these past few days. From the bottom of our hearts, and from all of Ukraine’s defenders – THANK YOU!

Our team has been working tirelessly to procure material aid, and a truck carrying $15000.00 worth of urgently needed medical supplies has already crossed the border into Ukraine. It is en route to distribute these supplied to hospitals and undersupplied Territorial Defence Units. We have also established supply lines throughout Europe, and with the help of trusted volunteers on the ground, we will very soon be dispatching more critically needed supplies, including body armour to safeguard the lives of our heroes.

Thank you to everyone that has so generously donated over the last few days – we could not do this without you. Apart from the funds gathered on GiveSendGo, we have also collected $5475.00 in cash donations during the course of the rallies that took this past weekend (February 26-28). Thank you to everyone who attended, and to the organisers – the UCC. It was truly an unprecedented event not only for Vancouver’s Ukrainian community, but the city as a whole.

We look forward to seeing you all again at 1pm on Saturday, March 5th, 2022 at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Together we will guarantee Ukraine’s victory in this illegal, barbarous, and inhuman war of russian aggression.

A big thank you to everyone who attended today\'s rally at the Vancouver Art Gallery, and to everyone who has already contributed funds to our ongoing efforts. Particular thanks to the organiser of today\'s event - Oleh Feday. Together we managed to raise CAD $1288.15, and USD $190.00 in cash donations alone.

The material aide that we will be able to provide with these funds is crucial, and the brave men and women of Ukraine that are on the ground are deeply heartened by this outflow of support. The knowledge of having an entire army of volunteers supporting their efforts from every corner of the earth is exactly the type of encouragement that will strengthen their resolve.

Please join us on Saturday, February 26th at 1pm for another rally at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Thank you all again! United we stand!

Слава Україні!
