For over ten years, I, Chuka, have sacrificed everything for one dream: a Master’s degree that could finally change my life and lift my entire family out of poverty.

I grew up in Nigeria watching my father—a hardworking businessman—build something out of nothing with nothing but raw determination. That same fire has burned in me since I was young. I’ve always known I wanted to study Business Management, return home, and help young Nigerians turn their own ideas into thriving businesses that create jobs and hope.

But life here kept pushing the dream further away. Financial hardship forced me to postpone it year after year. Countless sleepless nights were spent writing scholarship essays, filling applications, and hunting for the most affordable schools in Europe. I took every small job I could find just to save a little, but when you convert euros to naira, the cost always felt impossible.

On top of the money struggles, the insecurity in Nigeria has become unbearable. Every day I wake up wondering if today will be the day I’m targeted—kidnapped for ransom or worse. I don’t want to risk being kidnapped and killed here in Nigeria while simply trying to build a better future. Studying abroad in Malta is my way out of this constant fear and the only realistic chance I have to focus fully on my studies without looking over my shoulder.

After a decade of waiting, praying, and fighting, the breakthrough finally came: I have been fully accepted into the one-year Master’s in Management programme at Global College Malta—a respected European institution that perfectly matches my goals and my natural talent for business.
