4/13 Update from Jess: Yesterday I was admitted to the hospice house again due to swelling in the arm I have my midline in. Turned out to be a blood clot. I had to have a new line placed in the other arm and now get treatment for it.

Fifteen years ago, Jess and I met as young military wives while our husbands were in basic training. From the very beginning, she stood out as someone who gives—deeply, selflessly, and without hesitation.

Her life has not been easy. She overcame a traumatic childhood and went on to face a long list of serious, complex health conditions, including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Lynch syndrome, POTS, MCAS, degenerative disc disease, and severe osteoporosis. Despite all of this, she refused to let her circumstances define her.

She beat the odds and became a CNA—choosing a path centered on caring for others, even while quietly battling her own pain and limitations. She showed up for people in their most vulnerable moments, offering compassion, dignity, and kindness. That’s who she is at her core.

Eventually, her conditions progressed to the point where she could no longer continue working and had to transition to disability. Even then, she has remained the kind of person who is always there for others—offering support, encouragement, and love whenever she can.

Over the past year, her health has taken a devastating turn. She is now experiencing progressive muscle weakness, severe fractures, intractable nausea, difficulty swallowing, and profound malnutrition due to her body no longer absorbing nutrients. These complications have also begun affecting her heart.

She is now on hospice care, with doctors estimating only a few weeks to a couple of months left.

In this incredibly difficult time, she is hoping for a small chance to experience a few meaningful moments while she still can.

Her wishes are simple, but deeply important to her:

A trip with her fiancé and son to go rockhounding for crystals and minerals

One last visit to the ocean

Time spent creating memories with the people she loves

We are raising funds to help make these final wishes possible, while also easing the financial burden of end-of-life expenses, including funeral and cremation costs. Her disability income has been a crucial source of support, and its loss will add additional strain during an already overwhelming time.

She loves her children and family deeply, and while life has had its challenges, her care and devotion to the people in her life have always been present in the way she shows up—steady, giving, and full of heart.

If you know her, you know this is someone who would be the first to step in and help others. Now, she needs us.

Every donation—no matter the amount—will go toward:

• Helping fulfill her final wishes

• Covering funeral and cremation expenses

• Easing financial strain during this time

If you’re unable to give, sharing this page or keeping her in your thoughts and prayers means more than you know.

Let’s come together to give back to someone who has spent her life giving to others—and help bring her comfort, dignity, and a few beautiful moments in the time she has left.

Thank you ?
