During the early morning hours of December 2nd, Kelly had a seizure and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. After quickly being placed on life support, our family learned he had an intracranial hemorrhage in the right lobe of his brain. We were soon told he was lucky to be alive. Our family and friends came together to pray and support one another immediately. Kelly made it through the coming days and was finally able to return home to heal. We were forced with having to wait and allow time for the blood in his brain to heal so the neurosurgeon could find out the cause of the hemorrhage. We were told early on there was a great possibility the hemorrhage was caused by a tumor.

After more than a month of waiting and healing, we learned that Kelly does in fact have a brain tumor and it is deep inside the brain located in the area that controls your emotions and on the cusp of the brain that controls your motor skills. The neurosurgeon believes the tumor is low grade which means it is noncancerous. The tumor must be removed, or it will be catastrophic for Kelly.

Brain tumors and brain surgery are not things you think will ever happen to your loved ones. While we do not know why, it is God’s plan for Kelly to be on this journey.

Kelly is the most amazing son, brother, husband, and father of three amazing kids. He is always the go to person that helps everyone who is in need. He is always the guy at family gatherings trying to wait on everyone and ensure you have everything you need and are enjoying yourself. He has been a rock to our family. He has also been a barber since 1999 at the Kingwood Barber Shop and has enjoyed spending many years in the community getting to know his customers and their families. In fact, he has many customers who have been coming to him for so long that he has watched them grow up and get married and have children and then be the barber who gives their child their first hair cut!

If you know Kelly, you know he is a wonderful man who considers his friends and longtime customers family. He has the biggest heart and is facing the toughest fight of his life. While there is so much uncertainty about the future, Kelly knows he is in God's hands.
