Our family is not one to usually share our personal journey publicly, but here goes... 🌟

A few months ago, Nichole, Allie, and I walked into Calvary Chapel York (CCY) for the first time. It was like stepping into a new chapter of our lives—a place where we knew nothing about what lay ahead. But something inside us felt instantly at home. The CCY community embraced us with open arms, making every Sunday feel special right from the start.

Fast forward, two weeks, ago during one of those regular services, when they showed a video highlighting last year’s missions trip in Barahona - Dominican Republic. Nichole has always wanted to go on such a missions trip.  Finally the right opportunity and timing has been provided AND we can do it as a family!

Something about that video tugged at our heartstrings. It wasn’t just about helping others; it was also about making a difference in lives we'd barely know in Barahona - Dominican Republic.

God has been speaking louder to our family.  The Holy Spirit urged us to say yes when Pastor Harry Novak of CCY asked if we’d be interested in joining this coming March's trip. "Why not?" We thought and decided why not indeed?!

Now here comes the part that might tug at your heartstrings too: Our goal is $4,000 for our family of three, including travel expenses (flights & transportation), meals, accommodations, project materials, and any other necessary costs associated with such an outreach. It’s a significant sum but one we believe will make all the difference in bringing hope and making eternal impacts during those eight days this coming March 2026.

We're not asking for much; just enough to cover what God leads us towards. If you feel called to partner along this journey, whether financially or through prayers, your contribution would mean so much more than mere dollars could express! 💖

This is about reaching out beyond our comfort zones and touching lives where we least expect them—just as many churches have touched ours in unexpected ways. It’s a leap of faith wrapped up in the warmth of new friendships formed at Calvary Chapel York, to serve others in Barahona - Dominican Republic. To think it all started very last minute, with that one video during church last month!
