Habit of Hope Challenge: Week 1 (Simple Starts — Hope Begins Small)

Posted by Alex Shipley on Jul 1, 2025

Welcome to Week 1 of the Habit of Hope Challenge!

Sharing hope doesn’t have to be big or flashy. Most of the time, it starts in small, quiet moments—at your kitchen table, in a grocery store aisle, or whispered in prayer while folding laundry. This week is all about embracing simple starts. No grand gestures needed—just small, intentional choices that spread hope and make a real difference.

This Week’s Mini Hope Missions:

Simple. Personal. Doable. Powerful.

Day 1 – July 1
Smile First
Start the week with something contagious (in the best way): your smile! Make eye contact and offer a genuine smile to someone today—at the store, on a walk, at church.

Day 2 – July 2
Text: “You crossed my mind.”
That person God brought to mind? Text them. No pressure to say more. Sometimes the smallest reach-out means the most.

Day 3 – July 3
Pray for One
Pick one person. Just one. Pray quietly for their heart, life, or healing. Want to go a step further?

Day 4 – July 4
Gratitude = Freedom
Independence Day is the perfect time to remember what we’re thankful for. Write it down.
Bonus points if you share it with someone!

Day 5 – July 5
Hold the Door, Hold Space
Today’s about noticing people. Hold a door open. Listen without rushing. Hope slows us down.

Day 6 – July 6
Compliment Character
Tell someone something you admire in them that has nothing to do with their appearance. Watch how it changes the moment.

Day 7 – July 7
Repost Hope
Head to GiveSendGo’s social media pages and repost something hope-filled. Tag us or use the hashtag #60DaysOfHope so we can see and cheer you on!

Want to Do More?

  • Snap some pics of you completing each day’s hope mission and post them on social media! Tag us @GiveSendGo and use #60DaysOfHope

  • Invite a friend or family member to join you! Just have them text HOPE to 508-214-1197.

  • Check out campaigns on GiveSendGo and pray for someone while you're there. Maybe even leave a donation or message of encouragement!

This week is about showing up for the small things—because that’s where habits (and hope) begin. We can’t wait to see what God does in and through you.

Here’s to 60 days of intentional hope!
