Global Week of 24-7 Prayer 2025: Why Prayer Still Changes Everything

Posted by Alex Shipley on Sep 3, 2025

Prayer shouldn’t be our last resort.

At GiveSendGo, we believe prayer should be our first response. That heartbeat—making prayer central in everything—connects us to the movement currently happening across the globe: the Global Week of 24-7 Prayer.

Every year, this worldwide initiative unites millions of believers across nations, languages, and denominations to seek God together, day and night, for a full week of unbroken prayer. It’s a reminder that prayer isn’t bound by geography or circumstance—it’s a global family lifting one another up, trusting that God hears and answers.

At GiveSendGo, we treasure this week—and every week of prayer throughout the year—because we know how powerful and pivotal prayer truly is. That’s why at every corner of GiveSendGo, you’ll find prayer woven into the very fabric of who we are.

Prayer at the Heart of GiveSendGo

Fundraising and giving might be what first brings people to our platform, but prayer is one of the aspects that truly sets us apart from the others. Here’s how prayer shows up across GiveSendGo:

  • Monthly Prayer Hotline – On the first Saturday of each month, anyone can call our hotline and receive prayer from a member of our Hope Team. (Follow us on social media and subscribe to our emails so you don’t miss announcements about the next prayer hotline!)
  • Our Hope Team – Faithful members of our team personally call every single campaign on our site just to pray with them. No strings attached—just genuine, heartfelt prayer.
  • The Prayer Wall – A global gathering place where thousands of prayer requests and praise reports are posted, read, and lifted up every single day.
  • The “Pray” Button – On every campaign page, anyone can leave a prayer message, reminding those behind the campaigns you care about that they are seen, supported, and not alone.

Prayer isn’t a side feature—it’s who we are. Because we know prayer changes things—and most of the time, it changes us more than we realize.

When Prayer Becomes a Lifeline

What happens when prayer shows up unexpectedly in the middle of someone’s darkest hour? Here’s what some people have told us after receiving Hope Team calls and voicemails:

“I just needed to say thank you. You made me cry—hearing your voicemail was absolutely beautiful. Thank you, you beautiful soul.” – Amanda G

“Hello, I just received a voicemail from June 25th, likely God’s timing. You left a prayer and I just wanted to say thank you. I really needed it... It’s just my husband, our two kids, and me. No family or real support system. It’s been hard. Thank you again for the prayer. There’s nothing our God can’t do!” – Michelle

“You left me a beautiful prayer message the other day. I’m sad I missed your call, but I’m grateful for the voicemail because I can listen to it over and over. Your prayer personally touched me—it was one of the best gifts I’ve ever received. You’re a rockstar. Thank you for making my day and my year.” – Anonymous

“I just got a wonderful prayer. Today is my birthday, and that meant the world to me. I’m still going through the eviction process, and my six-year-old and I have been out on the street... From the bottom of my heart, thank you for praying for me and thinking of me, especially today, on my birthday.” – Anonymous

“Last year you left us a prayer on my voicemail. We were going through a trial for the First Amendment, and God prevailed—we were found not liable in a civil suit. God really performed a miracle there. I appreciate your prayers. Praise God, He prevailed.” – Steve

“I just wanted to tell you thank you very much for caring and having a heart for the Lord, and for encouraging our family while I fight cancer.” – Marcy S.

“That call was so appreciated and moving. We have a ministry that God’s given us, but it’s been difficult to get off the ground. It was very encouraging to know you’re praying and looking through our campaign to pray specifically. Thank you for pushing the enemy back as we try to build the kingdom and love others. Keep doing what you’re doing.” – Matt

“Although I missed a prayer call, I saved your prayer message and listen to it often... [It] was beautiful. Even now that I feel like we’re drowning, your voice gives me peace. Thank you.” – Rhoda B.

Why Global 24-7 Prayer Matters

The Global Week of 24-7 Prayer 2025 isn’t just about filling time slots. It’s about uniting the Church to remember that prayer is powerful and effective (James 5:16). It’s about breaking isolation and lifting burdens together. It’s about real people—like the ones above—discovering that God sees them, hears them, and has not abandoned them.

And it’s about us, collectively, refusing to treat prayer like a backup plan. Instead, we lead with it. We cling to it. We live in it.

Join Us in Prayer

As the world leans in together for this week of nonstop prayer, we invite you to do the same:

  • Post your requests and praises on our Prayer Wall.
  • Use the “Pray” button on campaigns you care about.
  • Join one of our prayer hotlines.
  • Simply take five minutes to intercede for someone else today.

At GiveSendGo, we’ve seen firsthand how prayer changes lives—sometimes through miracles, sometimes through comfort, sometimes through a simple reminder: you are not alone.

This week, let’s join the global chorus. Let’s make prayer our first response, not our last resort.
