When a Nation Unites to Share Hope

When a Nation Unites to Share Hope

Posted by Alex Shipley on Sep 19, 2025

A little over a week ago, our nation was shaken by the sudden and tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk. The grief has been heavy and overwhelming. Yet from this darkness, something profound has stirred in the hearts of Americans. Across living rooms, churches, and college campuses, people are asking hard questions, wrestling with what they believe, and finding the courage to speak truth boldly – many for the first time.

This moment in history will not soon be forgotten. It has drawn many to church who wouldn’t have gone otherwise, inspired others to renew their faith, and reminded us all of the founding values and freedoms our nation was built upon – values Charlie so boldly championed.

It has also stirred many to take action on GiveSendGo, and for that we want to say thank you. First, thank you to Liberty Memes Foundation. you were the first to step in with a campaign for Charlie’s wife and children, and we are grateful that you placed your confidence in GiveSendGo to rally that support. Thank you to Turning Point USA for inspiring so many to carry on Charlie’s legacy of faith, family, and freedom, and for trusting GiveSendGo to host a campaign that honors his life while providing for his family. Thank you to Glenn Beck for uniting people through the 9-12 Project fundraiser, giving Charlie’s family crucial support and inviting Americans to come together in meaningful ways - and for trusting GiveSendGo to bring your vision to life. And thank you to Tucker Carlson and the ALP team for raising awareness, securing resources, and rallying support for Charlie’s family, while trusting GiveSendGo as the platform where your audience could respond with both help and hope.

We are truly humbled and honored to be the platform of choice for each of you, where your leadership has opened the door for thousands to respond in remarkable ways.

And thank you to every person who has donated, prayed, encouraged, and shared. What has unfolded through these campaigns is nothing short of extraordinary. One campaign alone has raised more than $5.3 million, at one point seeing donations pour in at over $4,000 a minute. Yet as staggering as those numbers are, they only tell part of the story. Even more powerful is the hope that has been shared through every word and action taken. This is what will leave a lasting mark on the Kirk family: the knowledge that thousands have come together to say, “You are not alone. We stand with you. We will not let Charlie’s voice be silenced.”

Crowdfunding at its best brings help and hope together. It turns tragedy into testimony, loss into legacy, and mourning into an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Generosity is never just about money. Financial support meets urgent needs, but money alone cannot heal grief or replace the presence of a husband and father. It’s help and hope together that comforts a grieving widow, strengthens those who mourn alongside her, and reminds us all of what our nation can be when united.

That is why Liberty Memes Foundation’s decision to step in first is so important. They did not wait for someone else. They saw a need and acted. That is what we encourage everyone to do. Do not wait for someone “big” or “better-suited” to take the lead. When you see a need, start a GiveSendGo, step in, and be the change you want to see in the world. That is what crowdfunding should be. It’s how others are inspired to step up in their own way, how communities are strengthened, and how hope spreads far beyond what any one person or group could accomplish alone.

This outpouring of support is also evidence that nothing is ever wasted by our Lord. God uses every circumstance, every life, and even every loss to accomplish His purposes. Romans 8:28 reminds us, “in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” As 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 states, He comforts us in our troubles so that we can comfort others. And John 1:5 says, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

Charlie loved Jesus with all his heart and unashamedly proclaimed Him as Lord. Even in his absence, his legacy endures, seen in the unity, courage, and generosity of those rising up to carry forward truth and the light of the gospel.

So once again, thank you to Liberty Memes Foundation, Turning Point USA, Glenn Beck, Tucker Carlson, and so many others for stepping in and leading the way. And thank you to every giver, campaign creator and sharer, and prayer warrior. What you are doing matters. The echo of your impact, and of Charlie’s impact, will continue to inspire and call countless others to action.

Because of you, and because of this extraordinary community, we are seeing crowdfunding at its fullest potential. The values of our nation are being upheld. The family of God is being strengthened. And the hope of Jesus is being multiplied.

Keep shining brightly.
