Hey! I’m Baylie Lindell and I’m going to YWAM (Youth With A Mission) this September for a sixth-month program after graduating from high school. Ever since I was 11 years old, I have felt a draw to the mission field and I am excited to head out on this long-term opportunity.
YWAM’s mission is to train young adults to spread the gospel throughout the nations so that we may walk according to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). For the first three months of my journey, I will be training at YWAM's DTS (Discipleship Training School) in Kona, Hawaii; the final three months will be the actual mission outreach in another country, to be determined once DTS begins.
The Lord has called me to the mission field and I am excited to follow the path He has for me! When I was 11 years old, I first felt the word "missionary" on my heart, so my parents sent me on my first mission trip to Chihuahua and Soledad, Mexico. I enjoyed every minute of it and have always wanted to go back or do missions in other countries. Now that I am graduating from high school, and before I pursue a college degree, I am excited to experience life out on the mission field and be open to whatever God has for me.
I would be honored to receive your support, first, through prayer! I believe in the power of prayer to bring about miraculous works in these six months.
Second, I am raising support and would be honored if you feel led to give a donation. My goal is $8,000 to cover the tuition and outreach costs.
Thank you all so much!

The past three months have been a whirlwind of excitement, activity, and abundance. My lecture phase of YWAM has ended and I have now been in the Philippines for almost 3 weeks!
Lecture phase was incredibly impactful and grew me in ways I wasn’t expecting. Not only did we go through practical training on outreach, but we were led into deeper understanding of biblical concepts and into real encounters with Jesus. It was a time to let the Lord take us where he wanted us, and He certainly did. Looking back at those three months, I realize that practically everything the Lord did was to give me revelation of His character and His love so that I could go further into relationship with Him. When I first arrived at YWAM I thought that I had my relationship with Jesus mostly figured out and that I had left legalism and religion behind. But pride, judgment, fear, and guilt showed up brightly in those early weeks and I began to understand that I wasn’t seeing correctly. Something about my perception of myself, others, and God was completely off. God allowed those things inside me to come to the surface so that I could grow and be refined. It certainly took some rebuilding! I genuinely had no idea how much Jesus loved me and as he started to show me I was totally undone. As I’ve grown in His love, I can also confidently say that I still have no clue how much He loves me. But now I know a little and it’s still changing me. He revealed himself to me more as the King and the Bridegroom. He showed me the joys and freedom that come along with walking in relationship rather than religion. I still have a long way to go, but I’m so in awe of how beautiful God is and how I get to be loved by Him. All of this paved the way for outreach. I can’t do ministry well if I’m not doing it from overflow and then I’d be missing the point of ministry entirely.
The learning and growing did not end in lecture phase - in fact, I’m pretty sure it’s sped up. Being here in the Philippines has been simultaneously challenging and SO abundant. I love my team so dearly, and I get to do ministry with them every day. We do a lot of kid’s ministry (I now know a lot of cool songs, dances, and skits) as well as street evangelism, open airs, and house to house ministry. We have seen God move in absolutely crazy ways!!! We have amazing stories of salvations and healings and we know that God has only just begun. The Lord has led us through hard circumstances as a team and he has also given us a heart for the people here. Our goal is to simply come alongside the Filipino people and catalyze them for the work of the kingdom. There is a specific anointing over the Philippines that we are getting the honor to see and be a part of! We will be continuing to move in the next few weeks to do different ministry, so there will be many more stories.
I’ll try to keep more updates coming as we continue to go along! So amazed by all the Lord has done and I can’t wait to see what He will continue to do. Love you all! Thank you for your prayers!

First, thank you SO much for coming alongside me on this journey and getting me to my goal! I'm fully funded! That's absolutely insane! My gratitude is overflowing. I'm seriously so thankful and so blessed for all of your prayers and your generosity.
I've been in Kona, Hawai'i at the University of the Nations for two weeks and it's been so incredible already. I feel as though I've been here for months - we have gone through so much content, participated in so many activities, and everyone is starting to feel at home on the campus and with each other. I live with 9 other girls in one room (and one bathroom which is crazy). We've gotten to know each other well and it is such a blessing to room with such amazing women. Our schedule is quite full as we have classes and worship sets daily in addition to training classes alternating with other worship sets, prayer sets, and tracks. Tracks are specific classes students go to based on their gifts and passions - I'm in the media track learning about how to use media (photography for me primarily) to share the story of Christ. We also have work duty, meaning we spend a certain amount of hours volunteering on the campus. I work in the cafeteria for 16 hours every other weekend and it's such a blast!
The Lord has been moving so powerfully. People are experiencing breakthroughs, receiving revelations, and being encountered by the Holy Spirit. I've personally grown in spending time with the Lord and developing deep intimacy in his presence. It has been so abundantly sweet and I wish for nothing more but to go deeper and deeper. I can't WAIT to see what more God continues to do through these next two and a half months of DTS and then on outreach.
Speaking of outreach... we got our outreach locations revealed!!! I'm going to be sent to the Philippines! I'm SO thrilled about this and am so ready to go and do work for the kingdom. Our team consists of 10 people - truly amazing people who are ready to serve, love others, and preach the gospel boldly. Getting our outreach locations revealed was such a wonderful surprise because they've never released them as early as this before. We are looking forward to some incredible things this DTS and onward.
Please continue praying and interceding! So much has happened but it's only the beginning. There's so much more to come! I'll continue writing the occasional update of all that's going on and how the Lord is moving. Love you all!
