Help Our Baby's Broken Heart
Hello, friends and family! Our precious baby boy, Ben, who was born on April 21st, has been diagnosed with two serious medical conditions - coarctation of the aorta and hypoplastic aortic arch - which require serious cardiac surgery. The doctors have told us that his aorta is underdeveloped, and he has needed constant medical attention after birth to ensure his survival.
We are reaching out to our community to ask for your help in covering the cost of our baby's medical bills, including the surgery and the delivery expenses. The medical bills for the delivery and recovery period will be significant, and we want to make sure that he receives the best possible care.
We are determined to do everything we can to give Ben the best chance at life. With your support, we can make sure that he has access to the top medical care and the necessary resources to help him beat the odds.

Updates
Out of the ICU!!!
April 30th, 2025
Ben has made massive strides! Almost all of his lines are out, and he is stable enough to be out of the ICU! There’s still a while ahead of him yet, but this was a HUGE step forward! Lots and lots of loves and cuddles were had today, now that we don’t need assistance even picking Ben up out of bed.
Today was incredible, and we see a bright future ahead. Thank you all!
Big Steps Forward
April 29th, 2025
Ben continues to be doing awesome! His chest drain tube and his breathing tube both came out today! If things keep going this way, he could be moved out of the ICU as soon as tomorrow!
Lots more cuddles were had today, too, which we all appreciated. Ben was awake for a lot of the time, so it was an amazing bonding experience for all of us.
Ben has a decent road of recovery ahead of him, but he’s showing us that he’s a champ and is handling it like a boss!

Slow and Steady Progress
April 28th, 2025
Day 2 post-op, Ben is progressing like a champ! They’re slowly removing all the little pokes as he’s showing he doesn’t need them anymore. His breathing tube could come out as soon as tonight! His little eyes flutter open every once in a while, but he’s not staying awake for any significant amount of time yet.
We were able to hold him today!!! It took three nurses to help move him to our arms, but they were happy to help provide Ben the comfort of his mom’s arms.
Everything is going very well! We want to thank you all, again, for your thoughts, prayers, and generosity! It means the world to us!
Small Post-op Update
April 26th, 2025
Little Ben had a big day yesterday, and he’s earned a big, long nap. The drugs they used for his surgery will have him sleeping for most- or maybe all- of the day today. He’s responding to touch, so we’re hopeful he’ll get to wake up, but we’re in zero hurry to rush it.
Surgery Success!
April 25th, 2025
The surgery went great! No complications as far as they can tell. No surprises for the surgical team (in the best way).
The surgeon feels so good about the procedure that they closed his chest back up to heal.
We will be able to see him this afternoon! Your thoughts and prayers have been a huge blessing for us already!
Surgery update!
April 25th, 2025
Our little Ben is in surgery now. They've made first incision. He went under anesthesia just fine and his vitals look good and stable.
We’ll keep everybody updated with his progress as best we can. Thank you, everybody, for your amazing generosity! It really means the world to us!
