Update September 9, 2022:
Thank you to everyone who has given so far and helped us to achieve the initial goal of $5,000.
On August 28, 2022, Alfonso Rodriguez went to be with the Lord.
In order to support the family, we have increased the goal to $10,000.
A message from Alfonso's wife, Lupita Rodriguez:
As most of you all know my husband, my best friend, my ride or die, my superhero, a jack of all trades, has gone to be with our Heavenly Father. I just wanted to thank everyone that was praying for him, those who have donated, those that have sent food, reached out, texted, called, we are truly thankful. We are devastated and this has been the hardest thing in my life I’ve had to go thru but I know he is no longer suffering. I’ve loved him and he has been the love of my life for 30 years and it’s going to be so hard to live without him. You will always be the love of my life my handsome! My heart hurts so much and as I am grateful for all of you...
Services for my husband will be as followed:
Thank you again for all the love, support and prayers,
Lupita Rodriguez

Alfonso Rodriguez is a local San Antonio resident, and has lived in the Heritage neighborhood off of Potranco and 151 since 2009. Alfonso has been blessed with a large family of 7 children, 6 of whom still live with him, and range in ages from 22 – his eldest son – to his youngest daughter, 9.
Alfonso had just picked up an additional weekend side job as a carpet installer on Saturday, August 13, 2022, to earn some extra income to ensure his children were properly prepared with the necessary clothing and school supplies, as they are just about to return to school for the Fall 2022 semester.
Shortly after returning from lunch Alfonso returned to his duties. With his backed turned to focus on the task at hand, one of the co-workers present shot Alfonso 5 times in the back and ran away.
Other co-workers present called 911 and Alfonso was transported to University Hospital in critical condition.
Alfonso has been in critical condition since being stabilized following multiple surgeries on the 13th.
On Monday, August 15th, Alfonso's condition has deteriorated due to complications from multiple surgeries, and the medical staff is currently fighting to save his life.
We are asking all who are able, all those who know Alfonso and love him – and anyone with the compassion for his family, who so senselessly and suddenly are at risk of losing their father, and the sole provider for the family – to please spare anything you can so we as a community can extend a helping hand to this precious family who are reeling from this traumatic attack, and who desperately need the resources as they no longer have a source of income.
Thank you for you time and consideration, and any show of support you may be able to spare by making a donation, however large or small it may be – it will help.
