It started as a chance encounter between our Music/Missions Pastor and a friend of a friend in a duck blind one cold winter morning. That encounter led him to Donna at Josiah's House. We were called to help serve at Josiah's House Children’s Home in the Dominican Republic, and every beat of my heart feels like an echo of faith stepping out.

Imagine this: You're walking into a place you've never been before—a place that houses young souls with stories more heartbreaking than any fairy tale could muster. That's Josiah's House. It's not just about providing shelter and food; it’s about giving hope where sometimes, there seems to be none.

Our group is made up of 21 people from our tight-knit community. Moms, dads, kids—we all have one heart for the mission ahead. We know we can't solve every problem or heal every hurt, but oh, how we long to try! Our goal? A mere $3000. That’s it. Just enough for food and shelter for a few days for our trip in June this year.

It sounds doable, right? But here's the thing—every dollar counts when you're trying to make an impact across the world. It pays for meals for these kids who have known more hunger than most of us can imagine. It covers costs so we don’t burden Josiah's House with our stay. And yes, it even helps us bring back home some incredible memories and life lessons that will forever change how we see our lives here in the US.

We're not asking for much—just enough to cover travel expenses and a little bit more so we can touch hearts and share love without strings attached. We believe there’s beauty in simplicity, especially when it comes from a place of pure intention. And that’s what this is about: Simple love making room for the miraculous.

I wish I could say something profound right now, but truth be told, my heart beats with more urgency than words can capture.
