Sandra Christensen is a woman of God, a wife, a mother, and a business professional. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that God has a plan for each of us and Sandra believes that part of that plan is to use our gifts and talents to help others. As a mom who has volunteered in the PV district since 2015, she has been active in PTO, room parent, school event photographer & videographer, edited yearbook pages, chaperoned field trips, and a prayer leader for kids and teachers in PV schools.

Sandra has 3 reasons for running:

To Increase Academic Performance: Arizona ranks among the lowest states in terms of performance and the PVUSD students are testing well below grade level in Math, ELA and Science. Sandra wants to put the focus back on academics and put dollars directly into the classrooms to support our students and teachers including increasing teacher salaries in our district.
To Remove Politics from the Classroom: Politically divisive, academically discredited materials such as the New York times 1619 project has been adopted in over 3,500 classrooms across all 50 states.
To Restore Parent's Rights: For a child to success in school, parents and educators must partner together . As a governing board member, Sandra will listen to all stakeholders including students, parents, educators, and members of the PVUSD community. As a parent herself, she understands that parents must be allowed to direct the upbringing, education, health care and mental health of their children.

Curriculum

Over the past year, Sandra has spent several hours in the PVUSD district office reviewing curriculum. As a governing board member, she will focus on improving curriculum that will help students build essential skills in written and oral communication, quantitative reasoning, science, and technology. Because she believes that parents, educators, and governing board members should be partners in the success of our students, she will focus on providing tools to enable students to achieve educational success and be well-rounded. Sandra wants all students to have the ability to participate in sports, the arts, campus clubs and to select from a wide variety of classes will prepare our students for whatever career or vocational path they may choose after graduation.
