Help Build Saint Michael's Chapel

Campaign Created by: Michael Rose

The funds from this campaign will be received by Michael Rose.

Goal: USD $25,000
Raised: USD $ 75

I started building Saint Michael's Chapel on my 2.3 acre property at the foot of the Shawangunk Ridge in New York's Hudson Valley in the Spring of 2021. When Covid shut down the churches, I knew I had to take a radical step and insure that Mass at Easter would never be banned again.

I had had a waking vision many years ago to build a stone chapel at a certain spot on my property where a massive weeping willow tree stood. A few years later the tree was knocked over in a fierce wind storm.  I took this as a signal from God to begin the Chapel. I began slowly clearing the land around it. When Covid-19 hit and the Churches were closed, I knew what I had to do. By the grace of God, our priest had secretly said Mass for us and given us holy Communion all throughout darkest parts of the plandemic, especially at Easter. But we were lucky.

A Bishop can order his churches closed, but they have no such control over a private chapel. Our priest would be able, willing, and welcome to say the Old Mass, Traditional Latin Mass here without worry or fear.

When I started, I thought I had enough money to finish the chapel. Life interfered and I was wrong, my wife and I have been married 30 years and have 8 children. Inflation has driven up the cost of everything.  I think I have most of the stone on hand, but mortar and concrete are expensive and have gone up massively in price. And then there will be the roof. I have the roof beams already, but installing them will take time and money as I will need to hire a lift.

I have spent about $25,000 of my own money so far on the chapel. My cash reserves are gone. I think it will take about $25,000 more to finish it completely. That's why I am asking for your help. God willing, you will find it in your heart to help me complete this holy project.  I will remember all your names in daily prayers and in the chapel itself, inscribed on the walls.  And when the chapel is finished, you too can come to Tridentine Mass there.

Thank You- Michael Rose, Father, Artist, Teacher.

Dear Friends,

It’s been a while since I’ve sent out an email blast. I hope this note finds you well and that you survived the Plandemic! I am still painting and making my outlandish paintings. But I have an important story to tell...

I want to tell you about what my family and I went through. When they shut down the Churches in 2020, at Easter Time, I swore they would never do this to us again. We was lucky, we had a local priest who risked everything to give us Eucharist in secret every week. He is a true hero.

During the Plandemic, they shut down American colleges and my daughter’s roommate from Israel came to live with us for 3 months until she could fly home again. Anti-Semitism was in the thick in the air- blaming the Orthodox Jews here in the Hudson Valley for killing people because they were not not vaccinating. “Friends” (no longer) called for the “Jews” to be rounded up. My daughter’s future husband was here sheltering with us as well.

Early on when we first moved into our Bruynswick house, first built in 1675 AD, there was a giant weeping willow tree in a scenic spot out the view of my bedroom window. I felt a calling to build a shrine to The Mary there. Years went by, and I waited for a sign from Our Lord. During a storm in about 10 years ago, the tree was blown over and I sawed the tree up.Later, while driving , I felt a calling to build not just a shrine, but a Chapel there.

When the Catholic Church cancelled Masses at Easter, I knew it was time to act. I had to be sure that no political force on Earth could ever stop the Mass again. My priest assured me that a private chapel Mass could not be cancelled.

I began construction of St. Michael’s Chapel in March of 2021. I had the foundation pit excavated, drains and gravel installed. Then I laid the stone footings- 3 feet wide- an enormous task. Next, I had the concrete floor poured. Today the walls are almost four feet high from the floor (40”), six feet from the footings. I bought 28 palettes of stone. I have 12 left. The costs to date are just below 25k$.

Sadly, I have run through of the money I had saved for this project. If you know me at all, I will complete it, or high water and with the Grace of God. But, with the financial help of friends, such as you, it will be done faster, more beautifully, and much better. What’s more is you will be rewarded with prayers, blessings, and a dedicated memorial space in the chapel.

I am asking for help to buy mortar, sand, and concrete. For all those who donate, I will have your name marked in the chapel where it will be known, respected, and prayed for, for eternity. I can promise a treasure in Heaven where it will neither Rust nor Tarnish.

Thank you in advance for your assistance,

And May God Bless you ,

Yours in Christ,

- Michael X.
