You can give the Gift of Family this year!

ONCE UPON A TIME… on April 26, 2016, a sweet little gift arrived at the doorstep of Brent & Angela Carver, not by stork, but by a kind social worker. Three days old and cute as a button, Israel stole their hearts and became a member of their family. It was only a few years later, in 2019, that they were given the blessing from his biological mother to adopt him; yet, against those wishes, her court-appointed attorney shot down direct adoption and instructed the courts to only grant legal guardianship. At the time, they believed an adoption ruling would conflict with the chances of her gaining custody of a younger sibling. Sadly, the Carvers moved to Florida without his adoption completed. Ultimately, that younger sibling, as well as Israel’s older siblings have all since been adopted in North Carolina.

Fast forwarding to today, this awesome little boy has been the Carver’s for 8 years, and they are so excited to announce that they are finally able to complete his adoption! It’s been a long time coming, but, as you can see, there have been many obstacles, between two states, keeping them from finalizing this.

Many of you who have met Israel know that he is a vivacious, happy little guy the majority of the time. He’s full of energy, wonder, and a big love for his family, God, and reading his Bible. We understand that not everyone feels called to adopt, nor are some able to; however, perhaps you are able to financially or prayerfully help someone else who can. They are having to complete his adoption through an agency in Orlando because, due to not being residents of North Carolina anymore, they are unable to qualify for a NC state-funded foster-care adoption, which would have been less than $2,000. The cost has jumped significantly over this time and now, according to the agency they are working with, it will cost them approx. $13,000. God has placed Israel into their lives, and it is not a surprise to the Lord that Israel’s adoption fees would increase tremendously.

So, with all of this said, would you prayerfully consider how you can bless their little boy with the gift of officially becoming a Carver, not just in their hearts, but also by name. There are not many things in this world that would be better than being given the gift of a loving family. Please pray and see what you might be able to do, and thank all of you in advance for your generous giving. No gift is too small!
