All of my life I have always wanted to be a dad more than anything. In 2019 unexpectedly my girlfriend at the time told me she was pregnant, we were both ecstatic. Unfortunately that excitement turned to pain when his mother, who suffers from serious underlying mental health problems, abruptly ended our relationship and prevented me from seeing Sawyer. I was fortunate that a public interest program took my case, and after a year-long court battle I was finally able to meet Sawyer for the first time when he was fifteen-months old. Shortly after, I moved to the Bay Area just to be with him, and was granted 50/50 custody.
Sawyer is not only my best friend, he is the most amazing, greatest blessing of my life. Sawyer is now three years old and is absolutely amazing. However, his mother, who subsequently became a lesbian and is now non-binary, is also raising Sawyer as non-binary. She calls him “they” and puts him in dresses, girl diapers, and makeup. She threw Sawyer a girly themed party for his second birthday party where he she made him wear a dress donned with a sheriff’s badge. Sawyer says his mother tells him he is both a boy and a girl, but Sawyer is fully aware he is a boy. Thankfully he has my rebellious spirit and fights back whenever his mother gaslights him. However, I am certain this is confusing him and emotionally traumatizing. He is not old enough to even be thinking about this ideology, but his mother is coercing him into it. I filed a motion in the San Francisco Superior Court after I discovered Sawyer’s mother was arrested for felony child endangerment, and subsequently discovered she had slandered and defamed me for years. I presented 8-hours of police body-cam footage, 800 pages of documentary evidence, and psychological studies showing Sawyer’s health, safety and wellbeing were being jeopardized by his mother, her mental health problems and political ideology. The court, with almost no evidence submitted by Sawyer’s mother, decided to protect Sawyer’s mother and her ideology, and denied my request for full-custody and to stop Sawyer’s mother from treating him as non-binary.
The Court on its own then set a hearing date to decide whether Sawyer’s mother can force him to get COVID-19 vaccines, which I oppose as Sawyer is so young and healthy. I am appealing the court’s decision at the appellate court, and will take the case to the Supreme Court of California if necessary. I am still fighting, and will fight till my last breath, for full custody of my son to keep him safe, healthy, and happy. He deserves a wonderful childhood, happy with himself as a rambunctious, tough, silly, beautiful boy. He is full of joy, light, and curiosity in spite of all of the adversity he has faced.
