The Prepared Homesteaders of the Ozarks has formed a volunteer Emergency Response Team to help our local community by assisting with local medical emergencies, search and rescue, disaster response and educating our neighbors in medical and emergency preparedness. We have been training for the last 6 months and acquiring various certifications in these fields. We have recently teamed up with the local fire department as an auxiliary and they have graciously allowed us to use a fire station that hasn’t been in use for years. This will provide a much higher quality of emergency response in our very rural volunteer area. The old station is in need of lots of repairs and new equipment. There are no public funds to make this happen so our team is paying for this out of our pockets and asking others to help. We need to fix a leaky roof, repair the plumbing, rebuild some interior walls and replace the over head garage doors to name a few things.
