Helene Recovery Efforts

We’ve been raising awareness about the devastation from the storm that ravaged Western NC and it’s time to help with recovery. All funds raised will go to buying supplies here in Myrtle Beach, and transport them to drop off locations in NC so they can make it to people who need them.

Updates

An Update From the Field

October 5th, 2024

🚨From Ryan - to see pictures and video, visit HERE

I want to start off by explaining how strong the Appalachia people are, because the scale of devastation is truly bizarre.

We have had team members on the ground reach some of the most rural places that haven't seen a single "agency" since this has all happened.

Our crews have reached people whose homes no longer exist, who have lost loved ones and who have nothing but the clothes on their backs, people completely cut off from the outside world.

That being said, the common theme through every one of these interactions, is that the citizens who live in these communities still have their heads held high and have rolled up their sleeves and begun the process of trying to clean the FEET thick layer of mud covering everything to see what is even left to salvage.

These people are "mountain tough" and their resolve is unbreakable, but they need our help, AS A COUNTRY.

One of our forward crew member on the ground, providing updates on road conditions into towns that are cut off and need help, has hiked into several places that have been neglected.

The pictures i include in this post are of the area in and surrounding the Green Mountain area.

The level of destruction depicted in the photos and videos do not do the scope of the damage justice, but you can tell from the imagery, that this situation is not only challenging, but dire. Critical infrastructure is completely decimated in most of these places and will take months if not longer to repair or rebuild.

We have coordinated a group of Doctors that will be bringing life saving medical supplies, well above and beyond basic first aid needs. They will be traveling by helicopter to areas that are inaccessible by vehicle to give that life saving aid.

We have been able to get supplies into the remote town of Marshall, where their homes have been either damaged by the flood waters to the point of being unlivable or just completely deleted from the earth.

Talking with these people, they have concerns for the future, and not just the coming days or weeks, but in the near future as winter creeps into the area.

As that happens, the challenges they are presented with become exponentially more difficult and so much more dire.

From the difficulty of building temporary housing to the logistics and availability of supplies to rebuild, the geographical location of this devastation is creating more problems to overcome than what most would associate with "hurricane damage".

As the country descends on Asheville, supplies and help has become bountiful there and our operations will begin to shift further into the mountains to help those that have not had help.

Supply needs are changing rapidly, and as they do we are having to pivot on what we are procuring to bring into the affected areas.

I call on the people of this country to help us help these people. They have been largely neglected and are deserving of our compassion and help in any way that we can deliver it.

I can't speak for the government and what they are or aren't doing, but i can speak for our efforts.

We are just everyday citizens, husbands, wives, sons and daughters, standing together to help those in need.

We will not stop, until our mission is complete.

Partnering with Ryan Tyre of WeCan and HALO

October 4th, 2024

Friends,

Your generosity and kindness continue to remind me how much love there is in the world. After our first drop, Jackie hit the news and was overcome with help from the community!! I was searching for another place your donations could go that we could trust.

I was looking for an expert in search, rescue, and recovery who could help me ensure that these goods and supplies would make it directly to people who most need them, and God presented me with that expert. I read his post on social media and was able to start the conversation before Elon and the rest of the world filled his notifications.

It is with great joy I announce that I have partnered with Ryan Tyre of WeCan and HALO - two organizations on the ground in Asheville and the surrounding rural areas helping to rescue folks and get them the help they need, with long-term plans for the future. These are small orgs that know how to navigate - shall we say - tumultuous red tape properly.

Please read this post to see what I mean.

I have had extensive conversations with Ryan, and we are getting into high gear now. Here is how he explained our efforts:

"🧵We have had so many people reach out in the last 24 hours, offering their prayers and support. I want to especially thank those that have made monetary donations or that have asked about how they can donate.

When I made my post yesterday about my experience and efforts in disaster relief, I never imagined it would even reach this many people - really I was just posting to speak my piece.

But so many have already offered their support both on the ground and monetarily.

In an effort to keep the process streamlined and to exponentially expand how far your contributions can go, I am collaborating with Tracy Beanzon collecting donations.

She is an amazing person that i am sure many of you have come across here on X - she has a very large microphone and is not afraid to use it to do the right thing.

She will be collecting the donations and purchasing all of the supplies that we will be transporting and distributing to the areas affected surrounding the city of Asheville. I will put a link to the donations in the thread below.

Our mission is to establish 4 mobile food banks to best reach the people in need in the 4 quadrants surrounding Asheville and further into the "forgotten" and cut off areas outside of there.

Our food banks will provide life sustaining supplies like food, water and medical supplies. Also they will provide a mobile internet connection via Starlink, so that as we are distributing supplies, victims that have been largely cut off from their friends and family can make contact.

We aim to not only provide supplies, but to also take teams out to the areas that are remote that need rescue or debris removed so that they can access the outside world again.

If you feel so inclined to donate to this cause, please click the link provided here to donate to our cause. This will be the ONLY official method I am offering for donations currently.

For all who are wanting to be boots on the ground, please be patient with us, as we are putting all of the pieces of the puzzle together to ensure that we do this the correct and most effective way.

This is a little different than a 5 - 10 man team that we would normally go into an area with.

For those that we have talked to already, i will provide updates on this page with times and locations to meet and discuss more granular details over DM as they become available.

To make sure we can help the maximum amount of people with the resources we have, will be incorporating collaborations with other teams on the ground as we move through this process.

Currently we have only partnered with Tracy Beanz and H.A.L.O.

They are both integral parts of our operation and have professional capacity to make the best use of our current level of resources.

For more information on racy Beanz and H.A.L.O, i will provide links to them at the end of this post.

Again I thank you for your patience, I know i have only gotten back to a small portion of you that have reached out, but i will eventually!

You can read that social media post HERE

Long story short, this will be an amazing effort to help the most people possible. We will also likely be streaming live as frequently as possible and providing on-the-ground video of the areas we are servicing. We need everyone to see the REAL story of what is going on there on the ground. As I have been doing, I will provide full transparency and receipts for what is purchased. Please continue to check back here frequently for updates.
With so much love and thanks,

Tracy

First Day of Helene Supplies!

October 1st, 2024

You are all absolutely amazing human beings. Today we were able to purchase $5,679.82 worth of supplies and goods and clothes, diapers, wipes, food, etc for people and first responders in need in Ashevillle AND the surrounding area.

This will be the first of many trips I will be making and the first of many supply drops we will do.

Tomorrow, I am using some funds to purchase diesel which will be transported up to fuel the relief trucks doing recovery, etc, and Friday, I will be purchasing 900 gallons of gasoline that will be sent to folks who need it in the area, including first responders who are running out of fuel mid rescue.

I did an interview with Jackie, who I met via my mom and is organizing the drops. Please watch and share with your friends.

Watch the Update and Interview here.

I remain steadfastly convinced that humans are the most loving and wonderful beings - and you reaffirm that for me every single day. Thank you for your generosity and kindness and for exemplifying what it means to be here. Thank you for your trust as well, something that isn’t lost on me. 🙏

We ALL remain so blessed.
