Medical Debt

Hi, my name Trisha.

My husband served in the Navy and still works even though he’s retired on paper. He’s also a volunteer firefighter. He’s ten years older than I am and barely home. He should be able to enjoy the years of retirement he's earned. We can’t get there yet because the medical bills keep coming. Since 2018 I’ve been fighting syncope, tachycardia, skipped beats, and blood pressure that spikes without warning. It’s put me in the hospital at least 5 times a year. But we keep going. We built this house during COVID. It was supposed to be the place we finally settled down. Instead we had to take out a second mortgage just to stay above water. Those payments are due now, and the interest alone is almost more than we can carry. When my body allows it, I DoorDash so there’s food on the table. I also run a TikTok channel teaching canning and food preservation, and every cent of that money goes toward the debt. We are not sitting still. We are just out of room. I don’t want to lose my home.
