Join us in supporting a courageous child and her family on a journey of healing.
Imagine a world suddenly shifted by the words no family ever wants to hear: "Your child has a brain tumor." This is now the reality for Myla Flock, an extraordinary 8-year-old girl whose spirit, resilience, and heart have inspired everyone who knows her. Diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumor, she and her family are facing a battle that will test their courage and strength in unimaginable ways.
The Diagnosis
Just a few short weeks ago, what was thought to be headaches and crossed eyes escalated into a series of medical tests and consultations. After a whirlwind of hospital visits, scans, and evaluations, her family received the devastating diagnosis: a rare pediatric brain tumor. This type of tumor is not only uncommon, but it also presents unique challenges to treatment, requiring highly specialized care and therapies that are often not readily available close to home.
Myla's Story
From the moment Myla entered the world, this little girl radiated joy. Her laughter fills rooms, her curiosity leads her on adventures, and her kindness leaves an imprint on everyone she meets. She loves horses, making funny content and silly videos while rollerblading, crafts (making bracelets), jumping on the trampoline and playing with her new puppy!
Now, she faces days filled not with playground games and art projects, but with doctor’s appointments, treatments, and long hospital stays. Yet even in the midst of uncertainty and fear, her spark remains. Her bravery is a daily reminder that hope can flourish even in the darkest moments.
The Flock Family’s Journey
The diagnosis changed everything in an instant. Her parents have become her fiercest advocates, navigating complex medical systems and exploring every possible treatment avenue. The journey has brought unexpected challenges: travel for specialized care, time off work to be by her side, and mounting medical expenses. The emotional and financial toll is tremendous, yet their love and dedication never waver. Her brother, too, has rallied around her, offering hugs, stories, and comfort. The family’s resilience is remarkable, but, as they have discovered, even the strongest need a helping hand.
The Medical Challenge
Treating rare pediatric brain tumors requires a multidisciplinary team of oncologists, neurosurgeons, and pediatric specialists. Many of these are only available at select hospitals, meaning travel and extended stays far from home.
The treatment itself is daunting—not only physically, but emotionally. Side effects, uncertainty about what lies ahead, and the need for constant monitoring are part of the daily reality. Despite these obstacles, the family is committed to pursuing every possible option to give their daughter the best chance of recovery.
Why We Need Your Help
The financial burden is staggering. Medical bills for specialized treatments, travel expenses, temporary housing near treatment centers, and loss of income are just some of the costs the family faces. Insurance often does not cover experimental therapies or out-of-state care. Every dollar raised will go directly toward medical expenses, travel, accommodation, and support services.
But this campaign is about more than money. It is about creating a community of support and hope. It is about showing a young girl and her family that they are not alone — that people near and far are willing to stand with them and fight alongside them.
In addition, the family asks for your prayers to wrap around Myla. If you cannot contribute financially, please add Myla and her family to your daily prayers.
“But Jesus looked at them and said to them, ‘With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” ~ Matthew 19:26
