Our friend Karole, and selfless admin for the emergency group in SCV, is not just for a friend or community member, but as someone who has now felt the searing pain of losing everything, including her doggie and kitty in an instant. A house fire is something no one ever expects; it’s like life hitting rewind on your entire existence, leaving behind ashes instead of memories.

The situation that unfolded for my dear friend and her fur babies—a doggie and a kitty—is heartbreakingly raw. They lost their home, filled with years of love and comfort, to a fire that swept through too quickly for them to salvage anything more than the clothes on their backs. And now, in this time of devastation, they are facing it without insurance. Please no lectures. It is what it is.

It’s moments like these when life tests us beyond our limits, stripping away everything we thought was secure. But amidst such tragedy, we are a community ready and willing to help one another rise up from the ashes. Karole has always been there for others, helping in times of need, so now it's our turn to be her pillar, especially when she needs us most.

I’m asking you as a fellow community member who understands what loss truly feels like, to join us in supporting our friend during these trying times. Every dollar counts—they might seem small compared to the mountain of challenges ahead, but they add up and can make an enormous difference.
