Kash Lee Kelly of Lake Station, IN is one of the political prisoners of January 6th. He has been a gang activist since 23 years old, he his a dedicated father and loving man to his friends and community. He is a staunch supporter of the police and became a large voice for morality and unity in 2020. He grew a large following across the country because his words and actions pointed to the ability to actually change yourself and spread knowledge of how to truly take responsibility in yourself to change the community around you. He needs to find a way while he is being held without trial in DC to support his kids and his spouse. He loves his country, his countrymen and is a patriotic American. He is a melting pot of races, he is a Christian with knowledge of several religious ideologies and the ability to have an open minded and knowledgable conversation with anyone on almost any topic. He cares to continue to learn and be scientific in his approach to life and how to create real, meaningful change in this country. As his voice grew, so did the need for his voice to be suppressed by the powers in this country including social media.
To give full transparency, His case is a bit different as he was involved in another trial that began over a decade ago due to his gang involvement as a young adult. This sentencing was made at the beginning of 2021 soon after the Capitol event. Prior to his sentencing for gang related activity he had been a gang activist for several years, cooperated with prosecution, and took guilty plea to respect the court and the situation. He had been doing everything that the prison system is supposed to do on his own. He had rehabilitated himself to the point of not only helping people get out of gangs, but to be a huge police supporter, and someone that made a huge impact on positivity and truth in this country in 2020. He is a dedicated father and sole provider to her his many biological children and those he looks after.
Why it is important that we bring up his original case? First, we believe in ultimate honesty, but also because it was made clear during sentencing (over four years after the guilty plea) that his amount of time given was based off the decision to go to DC for the Capitol protest. It was a defiance of probation because his “court appointed” lawyer did not file the trip correctly and instead “accidentally requested,” an 18 hour trip to Texas. With his current holding with the political prisoners in DC going well past what would qualify as a quick and speedy trial he cannot begin to appeal his previous sentence that was made in obvious response to him being a part of specific political party and part of an event that has been completely and utterly misconstrued and lied about by the Media and the Government. To reiterate why it is important to bring up this previous life is because it shows the man he had become and where he was from. He was in the process and had the ability to show his light in the world amidst all the darkness. He had the true ability to inspire change. Until he gets out and can continue his mission he is just trying to find a way to help support his family as he comes from a place with very financial means and to be locked up like this is devastating.

Update #14 August 17, 2023
Hello everyone!
It’s been a busy emotional couple weeks! We celebrated our daughters third birthday without her daddy on August 8, and her brother turned five 2 days later! We also have our kids returning to school… along with everyone else! The light is getting brighter with every day that passes! Having conversations about all the different ways things have to be to comply with the stipulations of his release. Where we currently live, does not comply… so we are looking to move closer to the end of the year! We want to live close enough to everyone and hopefully have a home that will allow all of the kids to come back and live with us comfortably! Kash has been working through all his programs to allow his time cuts to be effective and we find out soon where that puts him as far as a release date! Praying it will be before July!!!! It’s been so stressful but it will all be worth it in the end! These 2.5/3 years have been so heavy on all of us, especially him… and now it’s almost over! It’s emotional just thinking about all that’s changed in these few years but we are more than excited to have Kash back with us! We are down to months now!
Thank you to everyone who has followed our journey! Before during and after all of this is said and done!
Thank you,
Erica

Update #12 August 28, 2022
Hello,
Just a quick update for everyone….
Life has been so crazy for us! In the last 5 weeks! The kids and I have moved from our previous home which was extremely unexpected. The house was sold with 4 days notice and we scrambled to move our possessions and being that we were not prepared for this, we had nowhere to really go. We lost many items that will need to be replaced eventually. (refrigerator, living room set, bookcases, shelving units etc) Right now, we are temporarily staying with my dad. I can’t express enough how thankful and grateful I am for him to give us a place to stay. The kids have started a new school and we are looking for a place where we can stay until Kash comes home! He has court coming in the next week or 2 so we are hopeful that we will have some movement with all of this! So in the meantime, I am working full time trying to save and penny pinch as much as we can to get us that much closer to having our own again! So if it seems like there are not as many updates, it’s only because life is taking over and we are really just going through the motions of getting back on track! Our youngest baby just turned two in the beginning of the month and it’s hard to believe it’s been as long as it has since he has been gone! We are hoping by this time next year he will be home with us and we can tackle life together again!
Please keep us in your prayers as we find a home, through court and just as a whole! If it’s not to much to ask!
As always, thank you for your continued support! I can’t put into words how much it means to all of us!
Thank you,
Erica

Update #11 July 23, 2022
Hey everyone,
Stopping by to give another update!
Where to begin…?! Well, communication has been tough with Kash. The jail took the tablets the guys use to message over a week ago (for updates) and now we are relying on just the phones. That’s always difficult because sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t! A power glitch caused them to be off the other day and all the family members were worried! Not just that… but the calls get expensive!
Court seems to get close in sight then a continuance gets in the way! This feels like a never ending situation! We are looking at potentially September for our next date!
The kids are all doing okay… anticipation for the new school year has them a little nervous! For the kids with me, this will be the 3rd school they will have attended since Kash has left! Due to some issues we did have to move out of our previous home! The owner of our previous residence sold the house and ended up giving us only a few days notice and we ended up loosing quite a bit- our refrigerator, living room furniture, kids bikes and a couple truckloads of things that we didn’t have the opportunity to move! This has been hard for the kids to adjust to! We are currently staying with family until we have enough to get our own place!
We have more than a few kids that I am trying to get situated with back to school and 3 of our children have birthdays all in the next 30 days! With all that being said … Any and all prayers would be greatly appreciated to help us get through this next month or so!
I would give anything just to have Kash home with us! The last 19 months have absolutely been the most difficult without him! I wish sometimes this was just a bad dream and I would wake up and our life would go back to normal! With every ounce of faith I have I am trusting gods timing and his plan! Soon enough this will all be over!
Thank you for taking the time to catch up with our family! God bless and have a great night!

Update #10 July 4, 2022
🇺🇸Happy fourth everyone! 🇺🇸
Enjoy the day and stay safe first and foremost!!! But more importantly…. Appreciate having your family and loved ones around! Hug them a little tighter and tell them you love them if it’s been a while!
Today marks 536 days since our family has been whole and we still just sit here waiting! Waiting for an update! It gets tough on days like this! Fathers days was hard for all of us! We have put all faith into the lord and we are trusting that this is still part of his plan! We appreciate all of the love, support and prayers!!! It means more than you know!
Today we were going to go to a parade, but considering the shootings in Chicago, we decided to stay home! Thats 2 shootings now and only 35 miles away! Just a little to close for comfort! We are going to attempt fireworks if the rain holds up, if not that we will be home having a movie night!
In the meantime, if anyone could pray for our family we would greatly appreciate it! We are having a little bit of a tough time with how things have been lately and we are going to stay with some family until we are in a better situation! Even with me working full time, with inflation- it’s not enough! So we are going to look at a couple more options in the next week… and we are trusting the lord will guide us to the appropriate route!
Well, until next time!
Have a blessed day!
Stay safe!
❤️🤍💙🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

Update #9 June 12, 2022
Here is a message from Kash that was sent to me this afternoon to share with everyone!
To all the amazing people I call family that have been brought together by a mutual want to do good to each other and help those who need I want to say I miss y'all and love y'all. I pray the peace and blessings of the One God that created us all over you and your homes. I trust all is well if you are reading this because it means you are alive, that in itself is a cause to feel blessed. I'm grateful for all of you. Thank you for the love, prayers, support and letters. You'll never no how much it means to me. God willing I'll be home soon but until then I'll be doing all I can to study and continue to better myself. I'm in good health and spirit all praise do to God. I'm learning different languages, studying astronomy, anatomy and physiology, as well as theology. I look at my situation as a blessing because had I not come to this place I would never have met the brothers I've met, never would've dealt with the issues in myself that I've ran from my whole life, never would've known the true people in my life and never would've truly appreciated the beautiful things I've taken for granted. This path was !want for me to walk and I couldn't have avoided it. I see just how important it is to spread positivity but not at the compromise of telling the truth. I see the brokenness of our criminal justice system as I live it. I understand the anger and pain felt by those feeling left in a hopeless situation on both sides, dem and rep, black n white rich and poor. I'm among them all. I didn't truly grasp the need for unity as I do now. Unity is the only solution. Not unity under banners of politics, religion, color, anger or any groups. Unity under the banner of what's Right. Unity against corruption in all forms. Just because someone is a democrat doesn't mean stand against Republican. Or just cause you're black stand against white.. Or you're a cop so always stand with cops.. NO!! We stand together against corruption and stand up for what's right. We help those in need, we give without expecting back, we compete with each other in doing good. Unite in showing love to the unloved. Understand that everyone is going through something and a king deed or good word can change someone's whole day. Maybe even save there life. Gain understanding and you'll eliminate stress and find yourself missing the traps of an angry argument. Understand that you only have power over how you choose to react to the things happening to you. You can't help the emotions you feel but you can control how you respond to it. I love you all and I pray that you continue your path to growth and choose to love instead of hate. I pray for peace and protection over you and your homes. My people... That's how I view you.. Those who practice the things I've just wrote. You are my brothers and sisters. I'm very grateful for you and can't thank you enough for the love you've shown my children and my woman. Until I am home pray for me as I pray for y'all. Love you ALL. PEACE AND BLESSINGS
Kash

Update #7 June 11, 2022
Hello everyone!
I just wanted to give a quick update…
It’s been 511 days now… and now we don’t have a court date. This has been so frustrating for all of us! Watching everything replay on the news has not made this any easier! Yesterday I had to relay some extremely tough news to Kash! He has had now 2 family members and a childhood friend pass away in the last 6 months! Please pray for our family!
I wish so bad I could just give him a hug! We wanted to plan a visit, but with the way things are in the world right now… traveling is not in our forecast. We are hoping sometime soon he is at a closer facility so we can make this happen! Thank you everyone for your support your prayers and your valuable words of encouragement to make it through this situation for all of us and from all of us! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Update #6 May 24, 2022
Hello everyone! Sorry it’s been a while… i have been super busy getting back to work, kids finishing up school etc!
Some of you might know… Today was a little disappointing! Court was scheduled for today and it was canceled! I don’t even know where to begin to feel. Kash has not had his preliminary hearing and today we were hoping for a little progress towards this whole situation! We were able to speak this morning and he seems to be handling the news ok!
We understand that everything is happening per the lords plan and we accept that his timing is the best timing! If you could please pray for our family, we would really appreciate it!
I know the kids were expecting a little different of an outcome… I just hope they handle this well! I was hoping to have an outcome that would at least bring him closer to home! We have not seen him in 16 months! Our daughter is 21 months old and I would love to at least be able to take her to see him, if nothing else… have him be at a facility that offers video visits! We miss him!
Thank you,
Erica

Update #5 April 17, 2022
Hello,
Today we are spending our second Easter away from Kash! This has been extremely difficult! Not only for us, but for him as well!
Please keep your family close and tell them you love them often! Do not take the time with your loved ones for granted!
Yesterday, I got great news! I got hired and start my new job tomorrow! This is great news for all of us! I have had such a hard time since Kash left because I have little to no help with our daughter!
If I could ask, can you all could keep our family in your prayers for the next couple weeks as this is going to be a tough transition for us all! Our baby has been with me everyday since her daddy had to leave us!
I hope everyone is enjoying their day!
Have a great day!
Thank you,
Erica
