Help Lawrence DeStefano Fight Unjust Charges

Background:

Lawrence Michael DeStefano — a 65-year-old American patriot, lifelong law-abiding gun enthusiast, and entrepreneur — faces 71 felony charges lodged by the State of New York that could carry hundreds of years in prison for actions that were legal under federal law and in every other state.

For decades, Lawrence operated Indie Guns, an online business selling firearm parts kits, tools, and build components to customers across all 50 states. He had no criminal history, no violent incidents, and no problems with authorities anywhere — until New York’s Attorney General decided to make an example out of him.

The Legal Fight:

In 2022, the New York Attorney General filed a civil lawsuit against Indie Guns and several other sellers, alleging they shipped gun parts into the state. Ultimately, a $7.8 million default judgment and permanent injunction was obtained against Indie Guns — even though Lawrence did not participate in that trial and was never physically present in New York. That suit made headlines as a “ghost gun victory” for the AG’s office.

Then, in late 2025, New York issued warrants charging Lawrence with dozens of felonies tied to activities undertaken entirely outside New York. During a traffic stop in Florida, he was arrested and has been held since, without bond, while prosecutors pursue extradition to New York — potentially to the notorious Rikers Island jail.

His attorneys argue that New York has no jurisdiction over lawful sales made outside the state, and prominent Second Amendment legal experts say the case is legally dubious and unprecedented.

Why This Matters:

Lawrence isn’t accused of violence, harm, or wrongdoing in the ordinary sense. His business served thousands of customers nationwide. Supporters say this prosecution represents government overreach — an attempt to expand state power beyond constitutional limits and punish a small business owner who refused to hand over private customer data.

Many in the firearms community describe his situation as:

  • A dangerous legal precedent that threatens all interstate commerce.
  • An example of a state forcing its laws onto citizens in other states.
  • A punishment disproportionate to the alleged conduct.

The Goal of This Fundraiser:

This campaign will support Lawrence’s legal defense and help him fight what many believe is an unjust case — not just for him, but for all Americans who value constitutional rights, fair application of law, and due process.

Your support will go toward:

✔ Legal representation and expert defense teams

✔ Filing civil and constitutional challenges

✔ Court fees, filings, and appeals

✔ Supporting Lawrence’s basic needs while detained

Please Give What You Can:

Lawrence needs our support now more than ever. A stand like this isn’t just about one man — it’s about defending the rights of everyday Americans against overreaching prosecution. If you believe in fairness, due process, and constitutional protections, your donation — no matter how small — will help him keep fighting.
