🌟🏠 **Our Journey Back to Stability** 🚛💔
Sometimes life throws us a curveball when we least expect it. Our family is like anyone elses family, we work hard for what we have and want the best for our children. Where to start: let see.. My family was hit by not one but two devastating events—one right after the other. My husband's battle with covid and walking pneumonia had just ended in the hospital after a few days of him being admitted. Leaving us all anxious about his recovery and well-being. But amidst that worry, life took an even harder turn when we came back from being away to find our camper completely destroyed by fire, along with everything inside it—our clothes, personal belongings, and cherished memories were all gone.
🔥 The heartbreak was overwhelming as we realized SOMEONE had deliberately torched our home-on-wheels, our storage shed with our clothes and OUR CHILDREN'S toys and belongings. What they didnt burn they stole and placed online to make money off our stolen property..During those days of helplessness when we couldn't be there to protect what little security we had left. We reported the incident to the police but felt unheard—their lack of action on such a heartbreaking case made us feel disheartened and abandoned, especially as we tried to pick up what pieces were left.
When it seemed like our situation could not get worse, FEMA came forward with an evaluation that declared our "home" livable even with total loss from the fire. The denial of aid only added another layer of despair—our camper was reduced to ashes but somehow deemed unfit for assistance? It didn't make sense then and doesn’t now. Worst part of all this, is having your little girl asking, "Daddy Mommy, what did I do wrong for them to steal my stuff?" Tears pouring off my face as I try and explain to her not all people in the world are nice. Even though we teach her don't judge a book by the cover. Theses people that did this, we've actually helped before. When they needed a few bucks to make rent, food for their kids dinner, toys from Xmas or rides to the store.(We Didnt ask them to repay us at all. My family was the go to when someone was in need. And they thank us by destroying all we had. By stealing my children's future. Collectibles from old World War 1 coins to railroad certificates my husband collected from his childhood. Our guns, old game systems like: atari, Gameboys,Playstation 1,2 3 4 gamecubes, exc.. Things they could have sold when they got older if needed. My Youngest daughters barbies, lil pet shop toys, coloring book and crayons to her Xmas present we saved up to get her, her riding escalade(matched our truck). My oldest daughter's art sets, series Book collections, to her movies, clothes and more...
We are a family who has always believed in resilience, hope, and helping each other out. Giving the clothes off our backs to the food on our plates. If someone needs it and we have it, so will they. And as we find ourselves living out of our truck with limited belongings and options, I can't help but think about what else could possibly go wrong for us. But even through these trying times—through the nights spent shivering under blankets on friends’ couches or when my heart aches at being unable to give my daughters a stable place to call home—we are reminded of our community and the love that people have shown us in the past.
That's why I'm here today, asking for your help. Every bit counts as we aim to raise $5000 to secure a piece of land(nothing on it) until we can find something more permanent to call our home again. This isn’t just about bricks and mortar; it’s about giving my daughters a safe space where they can continue being who they are without fear or stress clouding their young lives any longer than necessary.
📌**What's at stake?** It might seem small to some, but for us, this is everything—a chance to turn over yet another dark chapter and start anew with the support of those around us. With your kindness and generosity towards our cause, we can take a step closer toward rebuilding not just shelter but also hope in these uncertain times.
Thank you for taking the time to read about our story—it's stories like ours that remind us why communities gather together during trying moments. Let’s keep each other safe and warm; let's ensure no one faces tragedy alone or without support! 🙏💖 Even saying a prayer for us is worth something in our eyes. Thank you in advance for thoses that help and thoses that send a prayer. My family is grateful for everything given to help us out.
