January 23rd marked one year since I survived a violent assault by someone I should have been able to trust.

The attack left me with life-threatening injuries, multiple fractures, internal bleeding, and the loss of my spleen. I now live with a traumatic brain injury and permanent physical scars. I spent weeks hospitalized, and the recovery — physically and emotionally — is still ongoing.Surviving was only the beginning.The aftermath has been its own battle. I am currently without stable housing or reliable transportation, and I am still navigating court proceedings related to the case. The systems meant to support victims operate on reimbursement — meaning help only comes after you’ve already paid upfront. When you don’t have stability to begin with, that becomes nearly impossible.

Right now, my immediate need is securing safe, stable housing and basic transportation so I can move forward safely and rebuild with dignity. My immediate milestone is reaching $500 — I am currently $350 away — which would allow me to take the first concrete step toward securing safe housing.

Funds raised will go toward:

• Housing deposit and move-in costs

• Temporary safe lodging if needed

• Transportation

• Essential living expenses during this transition

So far, $150 has been raised, and I am deeply grateful for that support. Every contribution — no matter the size — helps create forward movement.
