Immunotherapy Treatment for Bill's Wife

Campaign Created by: Anita Vogel

The funds from this campaign will be received by William Muehlenberg.

Goal : AUD $60,000
Raised : AUD $ 49,457

Bill Muehlenberg has been such a blessing to so many Christians here (Australia) and internationally for decades.  He has faithfully prayed for many, assisted Churches and spoken clear and concisely into the culture wars bringing clarity to the confusion through TV, Radio, speaking engagements and conferences as well as the written word on his blog.  Bill now faces a personal crisis with his wife of 40 years just recently diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer.  They have been offered immunotherapy treatment (which is fully funded for some other cancers in Australia, but not breast cancer yet) in conjunction with chemotherapy, which yields very good results and would give her the best chance.  This treatment is very expensive at $60,000 - and that is the discounted price.  Please help to raise this amount for the Muehlenberg family to take the pressure off where to find the funds.  Many thanks to all who can donate.  No donation is too small (or too large).  Blessings in the mighty name of Jesus.

Update #7

Cancer update. My wife seems to have done pretty well with her recent surgery, and is now back on chemo for another month or so. Various meds are helping with some of the side effects. Then some radiation for a month or so, then some chemo tablets for some months! Plus she is still doing her immunotherapy. So all up over a year’s worth of medical action will take place. But hopefully she has turned the corner and is more or less on a good path. Prayers are always appreciated. Thanks to all those who have prayed and cared. Bless ya.

Today is my wife’s 11th chemo (and 4th immunotherapy) but her haemoglobin (?) was low, so she will also get another blood transfusion today. Her breast has been sore for a while of late and it was determined today at the consult that the lump is a bit larger (perhaps because she missed one week of chemo recently because of heart issues). If it is not a bit smaller next week then surgery will have to be brought forward. Prayers always appreciated. Many thanks.

My wife has been in hospital today getting her seventh weekly dose of chemo. While in between procedures, she managed to email me saying this: “CT scan and ECG results were both normal, the breathlessness is likely from the paclitaxel (the weekly drug) so no serious issues there. From the CT scan the tumour has shrunk from 5cm to about 3.5cm which is nice to know. I'm a bit anaemic (89 if that means anything to you) so I'm getting a blood transfusion as well today after the paclitaxel.”

In 2 weeks some $45,000 from 200 people has been raised! A million thanks to all who gave, who prayed, and who sent in kind words. Some folks have also sent in funds via bank transfer, amounting to some $15,000. So we have hit the goal thanks. Sure, more medical expenses will likely arise in the months ahead. But thanks so much for helping us reach this goal. Bless you guys!

My wife returns for her second round of chemo tomorrow. It is a different chemo from the last one, and she also starts her immunotherapy. Prayers appreciated that she does not have such a bad reaction as last time. Thanks again for standing with us! -Bill

The past few days she has felt much better. Tomorrow she gets a haircut so when it all falls out, there will not be so much to gather up! Next Wednesday (March 23) she gets her second chemo and first immunotherapy. The latter also has side effects! So prayers please for how she responds to those two treatments. And thanks again for all your very kind gifts, prayers and words of support. They are all of tremendous value.

Averil has had a bumpy ride following chemo. At around 3am this morning I had to take her to a nearby hospital. We had been given a list of warning symptoms to watch out for after chemo, and she had a few, so I dropped her off at the emergency ward. She spent the rest of the morning there being tested, given meds, etc. Even did a brain scan, but results seem OK. She texted at 7:45am. She wanted me to drive over with a few of her basic medicines and her fave pillow, as they were going to transfer her to another hospital. It sounds like she may spend one or two days there. All a bit of a roller coaster ride for both of us! Keep praying! And many thanks for the kind gifts and words of support!

A million thanks to everyone who has prayed, supported us, and chipped in financially. You are all champions. My wife had her first dose of Chemo today and is struggling a bit. Will see how she goes in the days ahead. In two weeks she gets a second dose, and the immunotherapy begins.

God bless.
