This fundraiser has been created with the blessing of the Gunter family. Please scroll through the pictures in loving memory of Chad and Brad Gunter and the people who love them.
The East Mountain community has suffered a tremendous loss due to an unthinkable, tragic accident. But even more than that, a family is suffering. We lost not only cherished community members, business owners and friends, but a husband, a father, brothers, sons, uncles. Those who know the Gunter family and their extended family know what truly amazing people they are.
This fundraiser is for Veronica, her two boys and also, for the Ribs staff who they treat like family. So many good people have reached out and want to know what they can do to help; this will help.
Other than my time in the military, I’ve never seen a “business” who cares more about their people or who builds more lifelong friendships than the owners of Ribs. This entire community is heartbroken and the loss the Chad and Brad weighs heavy on all of our hearts.
Ribs will be closed until further notice as the family focuses on healing and moving forward in this new reality one day at a time. Less than 24-hours after losing two loved ones, the remaining owners were concerned about how their staff was coping. They asked about how the kids they employ are doing. Even while their hearts and worlds are completely shattered, they are still concerned about their extended Ribs family.
I know in my heart that every, single, Ribs employee will be ready to step up and help this family re-open the business but in the meantime, their employees are also heartbroken, healing, and will also need some assistance in making ends meet.
My husband and I frequent Ribs at least once a week. Both of our children have worked there and have become part of the Ribs family; they love the Gunters. Jeff and I will still be supporting Veronica, her boys and the Ribs staff we have grown to know and love. We will support them through this fundraiser until the family is mentally, emotionally and physically able to reopen their doors.
Please help them in the healing process by showing Veronica, her boys and their extended families our love and support. Show them we are still and always will be patrons, friends, extended family. Leave a prayer, pay the tab, leave a generous tip. Let’s rally.
God bless and keep the Gunters and God bless you for your outpouring of love and support. Thank you.
