A Fresh Start for Greg & Tiger

A jumpstart toward a forever home—helping Greg and Tiger take the first step

Greg has lived in Bowling Green, Kentucky for the past four and a half years. During the day, he spends quiet time in the park across the street from my home. At night, he sleeps in a covered area near Parks and Recreation. By his side through it all is Tiger—not just a pet, but his best friend and family. They move through each day together, and they stay together at night, regardless of the conditions.

I moved downtown two years ago and began seeing Greg and Tiger daily while walking my dog. Over time, those brief hellos became meaningful check-ins, shared coffee, meals, and conversation. Greg has never asked me—or anyone—for money or food. He accepts kindness quietly, with dignity.

Despite repeated check-ins from local housing authorities, Greg has been unable to secure housing. He is often told that resources are limited and prioritized for those with the most acute needs, leaving very few options for someone who is stable, sober, and living independently without formal program placement. Without an address or safe place to rest, moving forward becomes nearly impossible.

I am setting up this GiveSendGo as a personal character witness for Greg.

Greg is reliable, kind, sober, and respectful. He is known by those of us who see him daily, and he carries a deep sense of responsibility—especially toward Tiger, whose well-being he prioritizes above his own. What Greg needs is not long-term charity, but a jumpstart: a safe place to sleep, shower, and rest so he can regain strength and pursue work and lasting housing solutions—without having to leave Tiger behind.

What Funds Will Be Used For

• 3-4 months of stable, pet-friendly housing
• Basic living needs (food, transportation, phone access, laundry)
• Support for Tiger (food, litter, and a basic vet check if needed)

This short window of stability can change everything—giving Greg the rest, safety, and footing needed to move forward toward a permanent home from a place of strength.
