My name is Amber, I'm a mama of 3 amazing young adults, from Freeport, IL.

The entire purpose of this campaign is to seek help in being able to attend my oldest daughter, Kylah's, graduation from college in Long Beach in May. As you can tell we are a bi-costal family now. Kylah left six years ago to live her dream and went to school on the West Coast. This year she graduates with a degree in Social Work and has already accepted a FT position at a local homeless shelter, where she will be the youth coordinator. I'm incredibly proud of Kylah May on so many levels... But personally, as a woman who has been apart of the system, I know she will do great things where it's needed most. It what she does and who she is.

For those who don't know, I currently am housed through a DV rehousing program specifically for survivors who have documented medical disabilities. I am in my third year in this program, and have taken the time to not only heal physically but emotionally as well. Also during this time I've experienced further health related complications, some from a previous surgery. This has left me with little work opportunities, and/or the ability to make stable income, let alone afford a trip across the country by whatever means necessary. As I continue to navigate my health journey, I ask for whatever help you fell called to offer. At the very least, send up a prayer!

My goal is set at $1500. This is to eliminate any expense from Kylah to get me there, fed, sheltered, and back home. Our wish was for me to stay a couple weeks or the month to help her transition into her FT position and still have support. Six years is a long time to be separated from part of your soul. We did it! But now we need some help coming back together.
