I am a 22 year old autistic male who’s parents were not very supportive or helpful throughout high school and despite promising me college money my entire life have never provided a penny to it. So now I’m supposed to be a senior in college graduating this year but instead have been homeless for months, unable to afford food stuck in a college town without many job opportunities because they are always filled or when they aren’t filled during school breaks there isn’t enough business to justify hiring. I’ve had a few employments that the managers treat you like second class citizens that they can demean and look down upon for personal pleasure and it’s been very rough. I was also never taught to drive so getting hired outside of the city is almost impossible because I have no money for Ubers (and they are very expensive) and rides are really hard to come by. In the last 2 months I’ve applied to at least 50 jobs with all saying we aren’t hiring check back in a month or 2 with no solution in sight. Rn I’m working on getting my W2s to maybe get a tax return but I’ve literally sold everything and only have clothes left of my original possessions. I’m trying to get money to 1) move to a new city and cover all the necessary move in costs associated with that, 2) be able to afford food for a few months until I can get moved out and find employment in the new city, and 3) to maybe purchase a cheap reliable car that I can use to learn to drive and then transport myself where I need to go and not have to walk 50-60 miles a week anymore and completely destroy my feet and knees that have been causing me major issues.
