West Michigan’s New Talk/Music Station – 103THE BENT

For those of you who know me, you know radio has been my passion forever. And now, after 40 years in the industry, I finally have the chance to blaze my own trail.

I have successfully launched 103THE BENT—a digital radio station based out of West Michigan, but serving the United States and the world!  Mine is the only station that puts soul music back into the forefront on the digital airwaves. We feature classic soul, pop, and rock rock from the 60s thru the 80s, various forms of jazz, classic country, and 1940s Big Band music on Sunday mornings along with smart talk, fun giveaways (One day!), listener interaction (Just waiting for it!), and hourly news and weather (That I'm doing in the morning andf afternoons). Everything local radio gave up on—I’m bringing back.

I’ll be handling the music, talk content, and Programming Direction myself. And while the operating costs are manageable—just $128 a month, and a one-time $199 service fee to take the station "live" just like a terrestrial radio station complete with a phone number that you can use to call in to make song requests and dedications. The be able to play games, have contests, and giveaways. we'll be able to take calls during talk shows to get your opinion on topics, and for conducting live interviews. Plus up to the minute time and real time weather reports. Maybe even traffic reports for your area.

I am currently accepting donations up to $1000 from family and friends to help with the operating costs of the station. I am still in need of funding for minimal winter advertising (Social media, and post cards to leave at restaurants, stores, hotels, and fast food establishments), for equipment upkeep and a new microphone, and station maintenance all on my 32 hour a week, $15 an hour job! Yes I believe that God will make a way, and my ego can take a back seat to my need and in turning (Once again) to my Facebook family, friends, acquaintances, and listener friends for support. Support for the station that was built for you and with you in mind.
