Single Dad of two and 15 plus years Fire/Rescue.  My daughter lives with her boyfriend and is expecting my first Grandchild (a girl) any day now. So it's me and my 15 year old son. 

 Ive always been the person that runs to help others, so its a VERY uncomfortable feeling for me to admit when I need help, but this time I do.

My son and I lived in a motel room for 3 weeks looking for a new house after a predatory landlord wanted to double the rent and refused to let us retrieve several items of personal property including my son's clothes, furniture, kitchen items, etc. They even stole our food from the pantry and fridge/freezer, yes there's a witness to this. 

Finding the new house was a blessing as the real estate situation in the Charlotte NC suburbs is VERY tight, there are usually only a handful of places available and they go as soon as they are listed. 

I work for a major road building and construction company based in Charlotte and have been there for over 7 years. 

Right after my son and I moved in, the Charlotte area experienced weeks of rain on and off for the entire month. Meaning i was not working, as the job sites turned to giant mud pits. I haven't received a full weeks paycheck in over a month. 

I spent everything I had to get into the new house and have nothing left. I feel horrible as a parent, like im letting my son down because I haven't been able to replace the clothes he lost (leaving him with a single pair of jeans and a couple Tshirts), my SUV needs brake pads badly before the rotors get chewed up, the exhaust is falling apart, the freezer door is hanging by one hinge, so we have to bungi cord it shut, and the AC is now leaking and freezing up after 3 weeks, heading into the Summer. 

Ive looked into donating Plasma locally to raise extra funds, but they rejected me.  COVID19 wiped out all the local charities in the area as well. I spent my last 50 bucks on groceries last night, I dont even know how im going to get to work till the next paycheck or if I can get to the hospital when my daughter has her baby.

Ive struggled for a long time with having faith in God. But ive also seen so many things during my time with Fire/Rescue that I know there is some sort of higher power at work.

Ive prayed for some sort of sign or signal that things will work out, so i guess im hoping for a miracle

So as much as I loathe asking total strangers for help, Im at my wits end
