My 66yr old mother was diagnosed with stage 4 bladder cancer that spread to her lymph nodes. She has been through chemotherapy, bladder removal surgery, and a hysterectomy. Then she needed an additional 8 rounds of chemotherapy, and radiation. Her numbers started to look great and she was on Keytruda. She had not been able to work alot during her treatments but worked from home the best she could when not sick. They relied heavily upon my dad’s SSI and what savings they had, which has since run out. She fell ill again in April of 2026 and was hospitalized for over 3 weeks with an UTI, sepsis, inability to eat, developed hospital acquired pneumonia and fluid in her pericardium which required a pericardiocentesis. She is very sick weighting just 100lbs but was transferred to a rehabilitation center in hopes to get her strength back. She is no longer able to work and my father’s SSI is not enough to cover monthly living (rent, and electricity) costs plus food and gas to his own Dr appts and to rehab to see my mother, plus cover medical bills and urostomy bags not covered by Medicare. All money received will be used for daily and monthly living costs plus medical expenses.
