One of our own long time advocates who is always helping others, and very good single mom friend of mine, is in need of some fast assistance to help her son & their tri-pawd dog. They are losing their home & her son needs medical help. Those of us in this movement are no strangers to hardships & adversity - this is a rather extreme case of too much life happening at once. This single mom’s special needs son, Gabriel, was VICIOUSLY ATTACKED BY A BULLY THE SIZE OF A MAN, IN AN UNPROVOKED SURPRISE ATTACK at his middle school. He sustained potentially permanent brain injuries, injury to his neck & back, mouth/jaw, a broken hand & trauma. He is in weekly physical therapy & more. (The video footage of the attack is shocking). The bully is 6 inches taller & 50 lbs heavier. As you zoom in on the video, you can see the bully come in to the cafeteria wearing purple. He slams her son’s head with a laptop and then slams his head on to the table. The bully, then grabs him by the neck to throw him on the ground and continues to kick him in the back and wherever he could, making his anomalies worse. The other children were stunned & several of them had to receive therapy after witnessing this. The attacker was charged criminally with 3 felonies.
Thankfully, our friend Gabe is receiving several great physical therapy helps, as well as some things that his doctor prescribed for his body to heal. He needs to see a functional neurologist, but that is not something his mom can provide right now with limited income. She interviewed numerous attorneys about a civil suit, and they all say the same thing. The school district is protected by Tort Immunity, thanks to legislation.
Meanwhile, Gabriel suffers immensely and this has affected them so much more than most know, resulting in a domino effect on their lives. I’ve never witnessed so much strength and positivity than I have in Gabe & his mom.
Due to tending to this extreme situation, she lost her full time career, which only made matters worse. She immediately started a new job where she worked part time, allowing her to be there for all that Gabe needed. He took a while to return to school & when he did go back, there were weekly and sometimes daily struggles as he was in the same environment where he was traumatized. She has pulled him out of there. Things added up quickly and they need some help fast, as they lose their home. There are multiple ways to help:

• 2ND - FINANCIAL 💰- every little bit helps & we appreciate your sacrifice to help them with as well as ongoing upfront medical costs. Physical therapy is already at 13k. Receipts can be provided. * new housing deposit, *moving expenses *possible storage. They have incurred 1 legal expense thus far. Invoice can also be provided.
• 3rd - REFERRALS - She is working part time. All that income is eaten up just to pay his expenses & they’re not even getting by. So referrals for an affordable micro school or co-op in the St Charles/Elburn IL area.
• 4th - a practitioner willing to do brain mapping & at a reduced cost (this is a big ask - extremely grateful for all assistance).

Thankful for his sweet heart

Gabriel has always had such a caring & aware heart & spirit. He always gives our Tri-pawed dog massages. But today with this rain, our pup, who is now 10 yrs old, seems to be in a lot of pain. Gabriel holds him like a baby which seems to alleviate his back, and we massage him where he lost a leg & we always massage his neck as well.
I also wanted to share that we continue to be very grateful for this campaign that is helping my son, & our family to continue to move forward. Gabriel will have brain mapping in the next few weeks & some other things are in the works & there’s still some need. I will update as necessary.

I have a few updates & developments pertaining to the incident, my son’s health, and life in general.
In the past months, our relationship with God has grown so much closer than it was & I’m incredibly thankful for the Holy Spirit guidance in all of this ✨ We are attending a wonderful down to earth church where my son has become very involved in his youth group, I’ve taken him out of the public school system that failed him & others & we have found stem cell activation. Although things are super stressful, we have such a calmness to us that I’m grateful for. As many have attested to, my son’s personality is happy & fun again. His kind & thoughtful self shines through again as he is always looking out for others & very much staying in touch & active with his friends from the public school. He is definitely feeling confident again & a large portion of that is because of all of the support he has received 🙌🙌 MEDICAL: THANK YOU FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN HIS LIFE!!! He continues to go to his wonderful physical therapy office & I got him another round of his stem cell activation treatment. He has THREE tests next week which will play a part in determining if scar tissue and the injury to his lower back has caused his spinal cord to re-tether. So tests are next week & then next month we meet for results with neurosurgeon & one more specialist. I am certainly praising God for the wins we’ve had thus far, and praying that he does not have to endure a 5th surgery. The stem cell activation treatment should take care of this anyhow.
PERTAINING TO THE INCIDENT: We have been made aware that this child, A 12 YEAR OLD, WHO IS THE SIZE OF A MAN, HAD A HIT LIST OF KIDS HE WANTED TO HURT THIS YEAR. I knew he had prior physical incident with other kids where he was the perpetrator, not him reacting, but I did not know the extent of it. I knew that staff & kids were afraid of him. The new development is that I found out that he strangled a child on the last day of school last year & threw a padlock at another student. Of course these are serious violent offenses. A note about strangulation & why the law & psychiatrists take it very seriously: Strangulation is an extreme form of coercion and control through which the abusive person shows that they have the power to determine if someone will live or die. Strangulation often occurs in the context of ongoing abuse and amidst verbal threats to kill the victim. Many survivors report being strangled more than once, sometimes multiple times during the same assault. I don’t know if this kind of behavior can be rehabilitated. If you know me, then you know that I have witnessed miracles before my eyes in others, and so I say that only Jesus can change this.
In any event, this all further underscores the need for change in our SEL programs and school policies. That will be the next chapter as we are linking arms and others are linking arms with us for IMPROVEMENT!!!! We are taking this to the state level.
THANK YOU AGAIN WITH ALL OF OUR HEARTS FOR BEING THE HANDS & FEET OF JESUS!!!! 💕 🙌✨🫂💝 I do pray that those who did not do what they were supposed to do, from the housing situation to the parents to the schooling situation, I hope the Lord helps us deal with it swiftly and turn people’s hearts for the better.

You are touched by the ripple effect of this word getting out 😭😭😭 Thank you! Gabriel & I just prayed for our friends who took time to help us set this fundraiser up & my sisters who helped us in other ways. I thanked the Holy Spirit for guiding me in decisions that benefited Gabriel. We prayed for his doctors, we prayed down the list of people who donated towards the GiveSendGo. I read each of your families names out loud, or headline name, even if it says anonymous giver. I prayed that God blesses your lives immensely THIS WEEK. We prayed for all families that have been affected by bullying & attacks, whether someone in their family is the perpetrator, or if they have reactive abuse, or have been bullied. We prayed for the kids & staff who were affected by seeing this attack happen. I even prayed that Jesus softens the hearts of Gavin’s family & that they come to know Jesus. THANK YOU AGAIN & GOD BLESS 💕✨

Gabriel & I are so touched that our friends & family have stepped up to be so supportive. It’s you all & Gabe’s doctors who know how this one major incident dramatically impacted every single one of our days since. Because of you guys pushing this out, now the public who don’t know us, are linking arms with us to help with Gabriel’s medical care, as well as for our move. I can’t tell you how incredibly lifesaving it is to have support when you don’t have housing security. I know many are going through it as it’s devastating when one event can disrupt your life.
