Eric Munchel/ Zip Tie Guy

Campaign Created by: Taylor

The funds from this campaign will be received by Taylor Lyneis.

Goal: USD $40,000
Raised: USD $ 25,116

On January 6th Eric Munchel, aka β€œzip tie guy”, and his mother traveled to our Nation's Capitol to stand with millions of patriots to use their constitutional rights and voice their concerns about the 2020 election. Eric is not proud of what happened but he isn't ashamed of who he is. He is not allowed to talk to his mother and they have not seen each other since the event. Currently, it has been two years. Eric and his mother face up to 8 years in federal prison for walking through an opened door and invited into the Capitol by police as seen on his body cam footage. Not once did Eric ever attack, injure, or insult a police officer or damage any property. He simply wanted to ask questions and get the answers that America has been asking.  No matter what your thoughts are on what happened, or your political views, this is not justice! With the cards stacked against Eric and his mother, he is in for the fight of his life.

After turning himself in on January 10th, Eric lost everything. All credit cards and bank accounts were canceled and closed, he was evicted from his home, and banned from all public forums.  All of his life savings went to paying bills and commissary during his 3 month stay in the DC Gulag. Recently, the Lord has opened up doors for Eric providing him with legal representation.  With this recent turn of events, Eric will now be represented by appropriate lawyers who want to fight for his freedom.  However, as exciting as this is, Eric now faces the cost of paying for his new attorney.

We are aware that times are tough right now and every dollar counts, but we greatly appreciate the support we can get in this fight for justice.  At the end of the day, Eric has surrendered financial and legal aspects to the Lord and know He is in control and will provide Eric with what he needs to be able to glorify the Lord.  We greatly appreciate your support as we fight for justice! God bless you and God bless America!

UPDATES

Update #4
September 9, 2023
facebook twitter

On September 8th, Eric and his mother went back to Washington DC to stand before Judge Lamberth where they received their sentences. Eric was sentenced to 57 months with $2000 in restitution and 36 months of supervised release. We are still in shock by this outcome, but ultimately are still strong knowing the Lord is in control. Eric constantly reminds those around him how the he has completely given this situation to the Lord and know He has a greater purpose in all of this.

Thank you to everyone who has blessed us with money for the attorney fees needed and with the never ending presence of prayers. We truly would not be where we are without both.

Trial Update

As many have probably read, on Tuesday, April 18th, Eric went back to DC for his stipulated facts bench trial. What this means is that Eric is stipulating, agreeing not admitting, to facts that had been discussed with his attorney and the prosecutors. During the course of his trial, the Lord showed up in many ways and covered Eric in complete peace. There were countless miracle happening before, during, and continue to happen post trial. Although Eric was found guilty on all charges, we are thankful to have more time together before sentencing in September.

On behalf of Eric, I would like to thank everyone for their support during these last few months. We have been encouraged by the many prayers and the financial burden being lessened with many donations we have been blessed with.  We ask that you please continue to pray along side us as we get ready for sentencing and for what is to come.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

On behalf of Eric, I would like to thank every single individual for their generosity.  It has truly been a humbling experience to be surrounded by so many people who are praying over Eric and sending words of encouragement.  These last few days have been overwhelming to see countless people donate to support Eric financially as we lead up to the trial.  The selflessness of everyone above has left us speechless.

We have been overwhelmed with the support he has received and to know that he has so many people in his corner means more than words can express.  Although Eric has a long road ahead, knowing that he has this many people supporting him means everything. We continue to give God the glory for all He has done and what He will continue to do throughout this next season.

We pray you have an amazing holiday season with the ones you love! God bless!

Trial Date Set
December 3, 2022

Thank you to those who have been praying and donating to support Eric during this time.  It has been a long road to get to this point, but as of today we finally have a trial date set for April 11th.  As overwhelming with emotions as this is, it also lights a fire under us to make sure we can raise the funds needed to pay for his (officially) new legal representation.  We are both thankful for his new attorney, however, payment is needed prior to the trial date.  Without payment, he could face being represented by yet another public defender, a month prior to the trial.  If this were the case, the the public defender that would be appointed to him last minute would know little to nothing before this life altering trial.

Eric is deeply grateful for all who have sent scripture, prayed over him, and donated to his campaign to help us as we walk into this new chapter leading up to his trial.  He knows that it is only because of this prayer that he is now able to speak to his mother on the phone once a week.
