Hurricane Ian has shown no mercy to the island of Fort Myers Beach, leaving complete devastation along it's powerful and relentless path. The Scasny family has been directly impacted by this menacing storm, leaving Greg, Marcia, and little Gage displaced and nearly alone in picking up the pieces and in repairing their life and home. The deep water surge made it to the second level of their home; everything the water has touched cannot be saved (memories, food/kitchen items, tools for home repair, furniture, etc). Besides a complete gut job, FEMA is requiring the house to be raised in order to receive funding; a significant expensive. On top of the initial cost and deviation, their son, Gage, required emergency surgery to fix a deep cut caused by mangled debris, which surrounds the property and community. Please consider helping this beautiful family work towards rebuilding their lives and recreate comfort and normalcy for themselves and those around them.

UPDATES
It's been over a month since Ian took our home, our community, our lives. But we are standing together, stronger than we were 1 month ago determined to rebuild our little island community. We are finally sleeping back on island in our camper while we rebuild. It has been 6 weeks to the day that we left to evacuate. We came home to devastation beyond our imaginations. Mother Nature knocked us on our butts, but we must go on. We are learning about the importance of little things, and community. We have been touched by so many, for that we are forever grateful. Yet we have so much to do. It is overwhelming to see all that needs to be done. But we can not move mountains overnight.Gage finally got his brace off, and stitches out. He did very well, and avoided any infection. Which is huge considering the muck on everything. We are lucky in that regard. Please continue to pray for us and our beautiful little beach community. We all need the support. Thank you.
