Dear Community, Family, and Friends,

You may know our House Manager and veteran, Jim Hartman, from Vets Returning Home, for his dedication to our veterans living in the house and veterans that have transitioned out. Jim lived on site and was in the trenches every single day helping his brothers and sisters transition into stability.

It is with great sadness to inform you that Jim passed away the morning of Saturday, July 30th 2022. Our hearts are heavy as we grieve the loss of our Brother who we all loved very much. Jim served honorably in the Army as well as the reserves. His love runs far and wide for our service members, as his family members served as well. He will be missed dearly by his beloved family, friends, and community members.

We have started a funeral fundraiser to help cover the cost of his funeral expenses. We were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral, and during this difficult time we are reaching out to the community for help.

The fundraiser can be found here Please consider donating if you can, as any amount will truly help and if we are fortunate enough to have extra, we will be starting a grant in his name to assist other veterans in crisis with monetary assistance for the incidental things that are not covered through veteran programs.

It would mean a lot if you could share Jim’s funeral fundraiser with others who knew him, and with the community.

Visitation will be held in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main Street, Mt. Clemens on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 10:00 until 12:00 noon, with a service following at noon.

Thank you so much for your consideration, love, and support. We appreciate you all.
