Hello my name is Holly Tucker and I am the proud aunt of this cute little 2 year old named Logan Matthew Wicker. Logan began having pain in his right hip about 2 weeks ago, leading to many doctor appointments and ultimately hospitalization at Brenner's Childrens Hospital. Logan's diagnosis is osteomyelitis in his lumbar spine. While they were not 100% sure of the diagnosis, it was decided to treat him with antibiotics first and monitor his condition. The only sure-fire option to determine exactly what is going on would be a biopsy of the lesion. For a two-year-old, this is very risky, and they have been very hesitant to do it. This illness requires long-term treatment, so he had a port inserted in his chest to administer his medications. The poor little guy has been put to sleep 4 times in the last 10 days. Controlling his pain level has also been up and down.

He had another MRI today to compare the lesion from the first. The preliminary report showed another lesion had developed on his spine. His pain levels improved for a few days but have increased, leading his team of doctors to look at the biopsy again.

My brother Matthew and his wife Kim have been at the hospital almost 24-7 for the last 10 days. I thought helping them not have to worry about finances during this difficult time would be something I could help with as they both have been out of work and are quickly running out of vacation time...ie. Salaries. They have a long road ahead of them, and at least one will be out of work for quite a while.

Please keep Logan, Matt & Kim and his brother Blake in your prayers.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I know they will really appreciate it!

I will also be posting updates and will try and retro back to the beginning of all of this to better tell his story when I figure that part out. The updates are mainly written by Logan’s mom Kim!
