Cadet Moffett, a member of Alamo Battalion from age 12 through age 18 (2007 - 2013), passed away in San Antonio on January 20, 2022.

While a Sea Cadet, Kyle served as LPO and as leader of the Color Guard. PO2 Moffett was an extremely dedicated Sea Cadet. He was an effective leader and mentor.  He demonstrated a great love of our country, a strong work ethic, and respect towards others.  It was a pleasure to be in his company because he was a kind young man.  He was also a ready volunteer.  He assisted Alamo Battalion adult leadership with many off-site drill preparations, issuing of uniforms and color guard events.

PO2 Moffett valued the experiences that he had as a Sea Cadet and at Sea Cadet annual trainings. Each Cadet is responsible for transportation to and from the training locations across the U.S. and must pay a registration fee. These costs can be difficult for some families to bear.

In memory of PO2 Moffett, his loved ones have requested donations in his memory to the Alamo Battalion of the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps. Those donations will be used to assist economically disadvantaged cadets attend Sea Cadet annual trainings, a fitting tribute to a dedicated Sea Cadet.
