Proposed Goal for Missions Work in
Mwaro Province in Central Burundi:

To construct an education center that teaches different practical courses like - agribusiness, computer proficiency, savings/loans, and trade craft skills. The center will also have an adjacent chapel where the community can gather and pray ( beneficiaries: retired soldiers, orphans, widows, children, very poor people).

The goal of this funding campaing is to begin the stage 1 phase of the project - to purchase the land needed to build the learning center.

An excerpt from Barrons in 2021 ranking Burundi as #1 poorest nation in the world:

The small landlocked country of Burundi, scarred by Hutu-Tutsi ethnic conflict and civil war, has the rather unenviable distinction of topping the world’s poverty ranking. With about 90% of its nearly 12 million citizens relying on subsistence agriculture (and the overwhelming majority of them living on $1.25 a day or less) food scarcity is a major concern: the level of food insecurity is almost twice as high as the average for sub-Saharan African countries. Furthermore, access to water and sanitation remains very low, and less than 5% of the population has electricity. All these problems, needless to say, have been exacerbated by the pandemic.

Burundi is in dire need for aid. This project will assist the people to achieve the skills needed to live and prosper. With the current governmental situation it is much more productive to initiate private aid such as through this project.

Ntakirutimana Leonidas will act as the agent on site to initiate and maintain the project. He has been a long time acquaintance of mine since my third mission trip to Africa in 1992.

Leonidas also has a registered aid agency in Burundi:
Communication Centre for Traumatized People, Burundi.

Leonidas is from Bujumbura, Burundi. He has extensive education and experience in Christian ministry and foreign aid work. Leonidas is also fluent in 4 languages (Kirundi, French, English, Kiswahili). He wishes to initiate this aid program as principle agent in Mwaro Province of central Burundi.

I am adding Leonidas' resume below to show his legit credentials in previous aid work.
