Hello, my name is Daniel, and I am reaching out for support during a very hard time. At 64 I am getting Social Security Retirement however the Social Security Administration is withholding part of my retirement due to what they say is overpayment of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) from a couple of years ago.

I am scheduled to see an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) later this year in order to try and get this whole thing worked out

Concerning my Social Security retirement I was getting $1, 142 a month but now due to the money being withheld I'm only getting $709 a month with $433 going towards the overpayment.

I've had to rely largely on credit cards but the two I have are maxed out. I do feel good that I used the credit cards as one should, only in case of an emergency. I rent a room at a house here in Los Angeles county so at least I do not have a mortgage. Still, who could live on $709 a month. $1,142 a month was barely covering my rent. Even then I had all the other living expenses.

I am reaching out for $1,050 a month which I believe will cover the shortfall in my rent, My non rental living expenses as well as help me toward my goal of getting out of debt.

The Lord blessed me with a non-profit that helps seniors and they were going to help me with rental assistance. The problem that came up is they will only pay rental assistance by check, The owner only accepts rent paid with cash, so he would not sign the W-9 form that the non-profit requires. I suspect the owners hiding rental income from the IRS. A non-profit has to keep track of how they spend their money or else they can lose their non-profit status.

So it's all a mixed up confusing mess. I do my best to hang on to the promise of God in Isaiah 43:19

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert".
