Faith above Adversity

This fund has been set up to help with medical bills for Eric Flint, a righteous man of God, as he battles pancreatic cancer.

Eric is a devoted husband, married to June for 36 years. They are blessed with 2 children and 6 grandchildren.

Eric and June met in Bible college, and have devoted their lives to living for the Lord. They have done evangelism and church planting in the Baltimore, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh areas.

When churches were closed in 2020, Eric invited people to their home, just like disciples did in the beginning days of the church, for Bible study, prayer, praise, and breaking bread in fellowship. He named this home church, Grace Bible Fellowship. Being part of his church family has brought my family closer to the Lord and deeper in His Word.

His outgoing personality leads Eric to reach out to people everywhere he goes, telling them about Jesus and God’s plan for salvation. Whether it’s talking about redemption to the homeless on the street, evangelizing to people who walk into the store where he worked, or teaching the Gospel to children at the local Christian elementary school, Eric's love of the Lord and knowledge of the Bible shines through.

Lately, he has also been warmly welcomed as guest pastor at a local Baptist church.

Like the apostle Paul in the New Testament, Eric’s faith in the Lord is strong, even through this battle with pancreatic cancer. Like Job, even in his affliction, he refuses to turn his back on his Savior. Now, too weak and sick to carry on his weekly fellowship, he sends texts of wisdom and encouragement to our group.

Even through this devastating illness, Eric says it’s all in the Lord's hands, citing Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

Oncologist are not giving Eric much hope for positive treatments, but he still trusts in the LORD for healing. He has turned to alternative, natural medicine for relief and healing. Use of hyperbaric therapy has been highly recommended by several specialists, but that is very expensive. None of the treatments he is seeking are covered by insurance.

Financially, this disease is draining on them. Eric can no longer work, and June is coping with working full time, and taking care of Eric.

Prayers for his healing are definitely needed, as well as monetary support to ease some of the stress. June says that when he’s doing poorly and she lets his prayer warriors know what to pray for—ease of pain or nausea, sleep and rest—he rallies with their prayers.

Thank you all for your prayers, thoughts, and donations. During these last few weeks that Eric spent in the hospital, he took every chance to talk to people about the glory of Jesus and to pray with and for people. He is now home in the arms of Jesus.
