As part of Downline Institute’s focus on the Great Commission of Jesus Christ and His command for all believers to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations”(Matthew 28:18-20), I am honored to be part of a short term missions trip to the Dominican Republic this upcoming February. We will be partnering with a local ministry in the Dominican Republic known as Project Mañana as they work tirelessly to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and break the cycle of poverty by investing in impoverished families and communities.
Our trip has four objectives in mind as we, the students of Downline Institute, step out in faithful obedience of our Savior’s will:
1.) We will be spending time in the men’s and women’s prisons teaching our discipleship curriculum to inmates who serve as small group Bible study leaders.
2.) We will visit with the volunteers and lay leaders of local village churches and teach them Bible Overview as well as our discipleship curriculum.
3.) We will evangelize and share the gospel in the town of Santiago de los Caballeros.
4.) Finally, we will distribute water filters to the homes and families with no access to clean water as we get to know the community itself.
We will be departing February 14th and returning February 20th. This will be my first opportunity to faithfully serve our Lord’s will of sharing the gospel with those who need Him. It will also be a tremendous opportunity to experience what it means to be a follower of Christ living abroad. I look forward with eager expectation to the insights and revelations that such an opportunity might yield in my own walk with Jesus, as well as how I may share those insights with the people of NWA. Thank you in advance, dear readers, for your time and consideration.
