I’m writing this not as someone who was personally very close to Dr. Dave Baer, but as someone who has seen, over many years, the impact he has had on the people around him - especially my family.

Dave is my dad’s business partner and friend, and the relationship they have built is one founded on trust, honesty, and a shared commitment to helping others. Even from the outside looking in, it has always been clear what kind of man Dave is.

Throughout the years, I have watched countless people look up to Dave. To many, he has been a mentor. To others, a trusted physician and guide. To all, he has been someone who carries himself with honesty, humility, and a rare kind of kindness. When my dad had a severe case of COVID, it was Dave who treated him, supported him, and guided him through some of the hardest moments of his life. And my family is not the only one with that story - Dave has helped so many people, often quietly, without asking for anything in return.

Now, Dave is facing an extremely aggressive and terminal cancer diagnosis.

Even in this fight, he continues to show the same courage, grace, and strength that has defined his life for as long as anyone has known him. He is pursuing specialized treatment in Mexico that offers hope. Between medical costs, travel, lodging, and the reality of being unable to work consistently, the weight on his family is immense. I am organizing this fundraiser because Dave has spent years caring for others - and now he and his family need others to care for them.

For 14 years, Dave served as both a dentist and a physician, dedicating his life to helping people with compassion and integrity. During COVID, when fear and uncertainty were everywhere, Dave never stopped showing up. He treated patients others turned away. He kept his doors open when so many closed theirs. He cared for people who had nowhere else to go. He never hesitated - because helping others is simply who he is.

In the last 2 years Dave stepped into a new chapter as a technology business advisor at a tech company. In that role, he has continued living out his mission of service - this time helping businesses navigate the complexities of technology in a world that grows more challenging by the day. Whether supporting small companies trying to stay afloat or guiding larger organizations through critical decisions, he approached this work with the same dedication, clarity, and heart that he brought to his medical practice. Even outside of medicine, Dave has continued to lift people up, solve problems, and make life better for those around him.

Dave loves God, he loves his family, he loves his country, and he truly loves people.

He and his incredible wife, Kim, are raising three amazing children: Justin, Delaney, and Layla. The Baer family is strong, loving, and deeply connected - and they are walking through something no family should ever have to face.

We are raising funds to support them with:

Dave is a good man - the kind of person who shows up for others without hesitation, who gives more than he takes, and who meets everyone with kindness, honesty, and grace. He is someone people look up to, someone people trust, and someone whose heart for others has changed countless lives.
