There’s something powerful about watching young athletes step onto the basketball court—not just to compete, but to discover purpose, character, and faith.

In Bacolod City, God is moving through basketball.

Through the partnership of FCA Bacolod, USLS, and TJ7 Basketball Academy, my teammate Coach Tata Belangel continues to lead an FCA Huddle where young athletes are being discipled, encouraged, and transformed through the love of Jesus Christ. What started as a simple gathering of players is now becoming a growing Christ-centered community where lives are being shaped both on and off the court.

And the growth we are seeing is not just in numbers — it’s growth in character, leadership, discipline, and spirit.

Many of these young athletes face pressures, struggles, brokenness, and uncertainty beyond the game. Some carry silent battles at home, emotional pain, lack of guidance, or fear about their future. Yet every time they enter the gym, they find more than training and drills — they find hope, family, mentorship, and the presence of God.

Basketball has become a bridge to reach hearts.

At FCA Bacolod, we believe the court is more than hardwood and hoops. It is a mission field. It is a place where young people can encounter Jesus, build godly friendships, and learn that their identity is not defined by trophies, stats, or success — but by who they are in Christ.
