A message to all Canadians who believe in freedom:

C3RF needs your help to implement a billboard campaign that highlights the contempt our government has shown for the civil liberties of everyday Canadians while inviting citizens to join in the fight to restore them. Our Charter rights to free speech and lawful assembly are under assault from legislation purported to keep us “safe” even as relevant authorities participate in “deplatforming” views that don’t align with their “woke” narrative. The question has become, does the Charter really forbid “unacceptable views” as asserted by Prime Minister Trudeau?

Our aim is to raise awareness of the fact that when it comes to individual rights and freedoms, our Charter is becoming little more than a piece of paper. Rather than liberties, we seem to have “privileges” that the government can take away on a whim or without justification in an emergency. We’re asking our fellow Canadians to join our fight to reclaim our civil liberties and let our elected representatives know that we see what they are doing and will not put up with having our individual and fundamental rights diminished. By making a donation at the link on this page, you can help fund billboards in several major cities, starting with the nation’s capital, that make this point known.

We understand that many people might be hesitant about donating through an online fundraiser given that the government used the Emergencies Act to freeze the bank accounts of donors to the Freedom Convoy. We are therefore also happy to accept cheques made out to “Canadian Citizens for Charter Rights and Freedoms” at the address below.

In a nutshell, this is what Canadians are up against:

the erosion of our rights bit by bit with legislative bill after bill and judicial ruling after ruling;

• the vilification of our traditions, values and history beginning with a Motion M-103, passed in 2017, that declared Canada to be systemically racist and Islamophobic;

• governments that create bills that define “hate speech” very broadly and enable the censoring of dissenting opinions and even the objective presentation of facts;

• judges that use the concept of “margin of appreciation” to essentially accept the government’s perspective on issues rather than subjecting the information offered by all parties to critical review by the courts; and

• an Emergencies Act that can be invoked to quell peaceful protests, even though they are declared legal by a court, and ruled to be justified on the basis of what might have happened. To paraphrase Joey Adams, “With a democracy like that, who needs a dictatorship?”

To save our freedoms, ordinary Canadians will have to step up because few of our leaders are showing any inclination to resist our descent into tyranny. Please help us in our quest to keep Canada glorious and free! We are grateful for any amount you can give.
